    摘要: The present invention relates to an apparatus for recording a digitized signal. If a recording apparatus is switched from a recording mode to a non-recording mode and then switched from the non-recording mode to a recording mode, there is produced a portion between two records where the records are not continuous. When such a portion is reproduced, abnormal data come to be reproduced because of existence of discontinuity between the prior and subsequent data. And, if a digital audio signal is similarly recorded, it follows that an abnormal sound is generated when such a portion is reproduced. Then, by recording an anti-format signal in the discontinuous portion, the reproduction of abnormal data or generation of abnormal sound can be prevented from occurring.

    摘要: A digital signal recording/reproducing apparatus capable of recording and reproducing digital signals having differences in respect to sampling frequency thereof and the number of quantization bits per sample by means of a common circuit arrangement includes means for varying revolution speed of rotating heads for recording and reproduction or traveling speed of a recording medium as a function of different sampling frequencies. A signal processing circuit for processing the digital signals so as to be suited for the recording on the recording medium is controlled by a clock signal of which frequency is changed in dependence on the different sampling frequencies. The signal processing circuit is arranged so that PCM data contained in a frame is constituted by a number of bits which is equal to a common multiple of the different quantization bit numbers and added with a common frame synchronizing signal and common error detection and correction codes to thereby prepare the PCM signal of the frame arrangement. The digital signals which differ in the sampling frequency and the quantization bit numbers can be recorded by same recording and reproducing apparatus with an improved efficiency with a same wavelength and in a same signal format.

    摘要: In a recording operation by a rotary head type PCM recording/reproducing apparatus including at least two magnetic heads, the odd-numbered sample data and the even-numbered sample data are discriminatively extracted and stored. The stored data corresponding to an amount of data outputted from the A/D converter within a predetermined time is selectively read out and supplied to the two heads to thereby record the data in such a manner that the odd-numbered data and the even-numbered data are recorded separately on a track basis or alternatively recorded separately on a preceding half and a succeeding half of each track. The error detecting and correcting code is prepared on the basis of the data to be recorded in each track. In reproduction of the recorded data, upon detection of a drop-out of the data from one of the two heads, the drop-out data is corrected through interpolation procedure to thereby reconstitute the original analog signal.

    摘要: By introducing a new copy control system into video signals subjected to picture quality restriction satisfactory only in small-sized PMP displays, a new business model in which copyrighters, consumers and makers can have mutual prosperity is created. “A new copy control rule of prohibiting a video signal output with a picture quality equivalent to that at time of recording from being copied, but permitting a video signal sufficiently degraded in picture quality as compared with time of recording to be copied” is added to the copy-never, copy-one-generation, and copy-free states belonging to the conventional copy control rule. The quality for which the copyrighter can permit copying corresponds to half the current number of DVD pixels. If a quality restricting scheme of thinning out pixels to half compared with time of recording is used, therefore, needs of consumers desiring to enjoy PMPs are satisfied while protecting rights of copyrighters.

In addition to the high image quality video information, a medium is recorded with another piece of video information whose image quality is limited to less than half the resolution of the high image quality video information, at which level the copyright holder can afford to permit the video information to be copied. This low image quality video information is attached with copyright protection information allowing copy, move and download operations as it is recorded in the medium. From this video information-recorded medium, the video information with the limited resolution is read out and recorded in a small medium that is easy to handle outdoors. The small medium containing the video information with the limited resolution is played in a video player that has a small display showing the played back video information.

    摘要: In a digital information recording and reproducing apparatus of a rotary magnetic head type for selecting and recording a plurality of digital information signals having different transmission rates and for selectively reproducing the recorded signal, a high-rate digital information signal and a low-rate digital information signal are inputted for selection of either one thereof to be converted by a recording-system encoder into two channels of recording signals. When recording the high-rate signal, the rotary drum is turned at a rotation speed and the magnetic tape is fed at a feed speed (V1) to conduct 4-track azimuth recording of the signals for each rotation of the rotary drum by the first to fourth magnetic heads. To record the low-rate signal, the rotary drum is turned at a rotation speed substantially equal to the first rotation speed and the magnetic tape is fed at a feed speed almost equal to (V1/N) so as to achieve 4-track azimuth recording of record signals compressed on a time axis to 1/N of the original signals for every N rotations of the rotary drum by the magnetic heads. A reproducing system receives two channels of signals reproduced by the first to fourth magnetic heads and conducts for the signals such processes reverse to those of the encoding process of the recording system.
