    摘要： A helical-scan video tape recorder (VTR) records time-axis-compressed PCM audio signals on auxiliary recording tracks on a recording medium and has a synthesization circuit which mixes normal frequency-modulated audio signals (AFM audio signals), recorded on video tracks with video signals, with the time-axis-compressed Pulse-Code-Modulated audio signals (PCM signals) before reproduction through speakers. The PCM audio signals require digital processing for time-axis compression, and so are recorded and reproduced later than the AFM audio signals. Thus, when reproduced, the PCM audio component lags behind the AFM component, resulting in an echo effect. Adjustment of the relative amplitude levels of the two types of audio during synthesization produces acoustical effects that simulate the acoustics of a concert hall.

    摘要： An apparatus for reproducing from a recording medium a frequency-modulated audio signal which has its carrier level in a specific period determined according to the kind of information and for producing the audio signal after processing the reproduced audio signal is arranged to control the signal processing action according to the output of a detecting circuit which detects the level of a difference between the carrier level of the frequency-modulated audio signal obtained in the specific period and the carrier level obtained in a period other than the specific period or detects changes taking place in the carrier level. This arrangement enables the apparatus to process the audio signal appositely to the kind of the frequency-modulated signal thereof without recourse to any additional reproducing circuit solely for this purpose. Further, the apparatus is arranged to prevent any faulty signal processing action by nullifying as necessary the output of the detecting circuit.

The mutually superimposed first and second signals are supplied to the magnetic head. The value of the first signal current to be supplied to the magnetic head is set at a value which is greater than the current value for which the reproduced output level of the first signal that was recorded on the magnetic recording medium attains a maximum, and a satisfactory superimposed recording characteristic can be obtained by such an arrangement.

    摘要： A video and audio signal recording apparatus includes a first frequency modulator in which a first audio signal to be recorded that may represent a stereophonic left channel modulates a first carrier to produce a first FM audio signal, and a first frequency convertor converts the carrier frequency of the first FM audio signal to a different carrier frequency higher than the first carrier frequency to form a second FM audio signal. A second frequency modulator modulates a second audio signal to be recorded that may represent a stereophonic right channel to produce a third FM audio signal, and a second frequency converter converts the third FM audio signal into a fourth FM audio signal having a carrier frequency that is higher than any of the other FM audio signals so modulated. The first and third FM audio signals are mixed to form a first mixed audio signal and the second and fourth FM audio signals are mixed to form a second mixed audio signal, which are both combined in a mixing circuit with a composite color video signal to form first and second mixed audio and video signals which are fed to first and second magnetic recording heads, respectively. Reproducing apparatus reproduces the recorded signal.
