    摘要: An ink jet recording head capable of separating or coupling ink tanks from or with the head including a recording device substrate having a plurality of recording devices thereon for discharging ink, a wiring device for giving electrical recording signals to the recording device substrate, an ink supply member for supplying ink to the recording device substrate, and a filter member for removing dust particles or the like in ink. This recording unit is provided with all the functions of discharging ink, and coupled with a holder member having only the function of holding and fixing ink tanks. With the structure thus arranged, it becomes unnecessary to connect ink supply paths as in the conventional art, hence eliminating the provision of sealing members. The number of parts is made smaller, while making it possible to carry out inspection of heads only in accordance with the recording units, which significantly contributes to simplifying manufacture and providing highly reliable heads at lower costs.

    摘要: An ink refilling apparatus includes an ink absorbing member at a connecting portion relative to an ink recording head; an ink container holding portion to which an ink container for the ink recording head provided with a porous ink retaining member capable of producing a negative pressure therein, is mountable; an ink discharging device for accommodating the ink to be refilled into the ink container and supplying the ink to the ink absorbing member of the ink container; wherein after the ink of the ink absorbing member and the ink retained by the ink discharging device are contacted to each other, the ink is refilled using a negative pressure produced by consumption of the ink from the ink container; the improvement residing in that ink absorbing member having substantially the same property as the ink absorbing member of the ink container is provided at an ink container connection side of the ink discharging device, the ink absorbing members are contacted to each other upon mounting of the ink container, by which a meniscus formed at a contact surface of the ink absorbing member, is broken.

    摘要: An ink jet head has plural liquid ink paths, each having a discharge opening for discharging ink when energy is applied to ink in a corresponding ink path, and a common ink chamber communicating with an end of each ink path for supplying ink to the discharge openings. The discharge openings are disposed in plural groups, which are consecutively driven by simultaneously applying energy to ink paths corresponding to selected discharge openings in a given group. The ends of the ink paths are disposed in the common ink chamber in groups consecutively arranged in accordance with the driving order of the discharge opening groups, and each ink path includes a portion proximate to that end which is directed away from the next consecutively arranged ink path group. This arrangement suppresses pressure interference between the consecutively driven discharge opening groups and enables high-quality, high-speed recording in a compact recording head.

    摘要: In an ink jet recording apparatus in which a filter is placed in an ink supply route, when an ink flow is formed in the ink supply route by ink ejection during recording operations and so on, a valve does not contact firmly to the filter, but when an ejection recovery operation is performed and an ink flow velocity increases, the valve contacts firmly to the filter and covers up a part of the filter. With this structure and operation, the effective cross-section area of the filter decreases and hence, a given quantity of pressure difference is produced between the upstream side and the downstream side of the filter. As a result, bubbles unable to pass through the filter at recording operations can pass through the filter when ejection recovery operations are performed.
