    Abstract: Embodiments of this application disclose a communication method, a terminal device, and a core network device. The method includes: The terminal device sends, through a radio access network device, a registration request message including first network slice information to the core network device. The first network slice information is information about a first network slice corresponding to a PDU session that the terminal device expects to establish. The terminal device receives, through the radio access network device, a registration accept message that is sent by the core network device and that includes information about a first registration area allocated to the terminal device and second network slice information, the second network slice information is information about a second network slice that is allowed to be used by the terminal device in the first registration area, and the second network slice information includes the first network slice information.

    Abstract: This application discloses a communication method and an apparatus. In a solution of this application, a base station sends, by using dedicated signaling, at least one random access parameter set to a terminal in a connected mode or an inactive mode. The base station receives a random access request of the terminal in a connected mode or an inactive mode. One of the at least one random access parameter set is used in the random access request. In this application, differentiated random access processes may be performed in different scenarios.

The method includes the following steps: receiving, by an access network device, a first downlink data flow that includes first downlink data and that is sent by a core network device, where the first downlink data flow includes a first flow identifier; and sending, by the access network device, a second downlink data flow that includes the first downlink data to a terminal, where the second downlink data flow includes a second flow identifier.     Abstract: A data transmission method and a network device are provided. The method can include: determining, by a first network device, that a terminal device enters an RRC inactive state; sending, by the first network device, a first message to a second network device, where the first message is used to configure the second network device, so that the second network device transmits data for the terminal device in the RRC inactive state; and receiving, by the first network device, an acknowledgment message the first message and sent by the second network device. The second network device can transmit data of the terminal device to the first network device to enable the first network device to send the data to a core network, without having to establish a path between the second network device and the core network for the second network device to send the data to the core network.
