摘要: Periodic process scheduling method of computer system includes steps of receiving requests for periodical execution of processes each with period of execution and execution time, securing allocation time for process having shorter period than the other processes to be executed in each of respective periods of execution for process, securing another allocation time for part of another process within first of respective periods of execution of process other than allocation time in first of the allocation time for process if full execution time of another process cannot be secured within first of respective periods of execution of process, and starting execution of process in secured allocation time and another process in secured another allocation time. A data transfer management method for effectively reducing collision in data transfer includes steps of storing data length (M) of packets capable of being transferred in predetermined transmission time interval, storing predetermined transmission time interval (t), accumulating quantity of packets to be transferred on communication stream in predetermined transmission time interval, and limiting quantity of packets to be transferred to value not greater than data length.

摘要: In order to access a distributed file system (DFS) of the present invention using a conventional protocol such as the one for an NFS or a CIFS without making a modification on a client side, a gateway unit for receiving a conventional protocol and performing processing in conformity the protocol is provided for a DFS server. The gateway unit emulates a directory structure in a file system such as the NFS or CIFS. When the DFS is a write-once read-many file system, update processing is converted into processing for creating a new generation file, and reference processing is converted into access to a latest generation file in a generation-managed file group. The gateway unit then accesses a DFS file via a DFS processing unit.

摘要: A method of transferring multimedia data from an input device to an output device in a computer system having a plurality of input/output devices. An application program specifies an origination and destination of multimedia data transfer and orders multimedia data transfer start. A periodic driven program conducts multimedia data transfer in accordance with the order given by the application program. The application program can conduct other processing irrespective of the multimedia transfer state after giving the transfer start order. The periodic driven program operates with a predetermined period, divides multimedia data, and transfers the multimedia data in a plurality of periods.

摘要: Before starting data transfer, the sender node sends the CONNECT message requesting security of hardware resources necessary for data transfer to the receiver node. Each node relaying the CONNECT message secures the CPU time and bandwidth necessary for data transfer and sends the CONNECT message to the receiver node. Upon receipt of the CONNECT message, the receiver node reserves the CPU time necessary for data reception and then sends the ACCEPT command to the sender node. The sender node receives the ACCEPT command and then sends a data packet.

摘要: A motor control method stops rotation of a motor which rotates in a forward direction by applying a brake signal for rotating the motor in a reverse direction. The motor control method detects a power supply voltage, and corrects a brake signal applying time for which the brake signal is applied to the motor depending on the detected power supply voltage.

摘要: In a computer system in which nodes are connected to each other via a network, transmission and reception buffers of sender and receiver processes are prepared as resident areas in a main storage. A node of a receiver side notifies, prior to initiation of a communication, a physical address of a data reception area of the node to a node on a sender side. In the node on the sender side, the reported physical address is added to transmission data to transfer a resultant item. On the receiver side, reception data is written in a location of the main storage at the physical address. In the receiver node, the double buffering is employed to prevent an overwriting operation of another node onto the data reception area. The respective nodes achieve partial synchronization with adjacent nodes in chain, thereby automatically establishing synchronization between all nodes. A node on a receiver side notifies prior to initiation of a communication an identifier of a data reception area to a node on a sender side such that the sender node transmits data with the identifier added thereto. In the receiver node, the identifier added to the received data is compared with an identifier added to a data reception area thereof. If mismatching results, interruption is caused in a processor of the receiver node.

摘要: A parallel processor system includes: a reception buffer pointer controller for generating an address of a reception buffer area in which a received packet is written and for checking whether there is no space area in the reception buffer area; a discard command bit capable of being set and reset by an instruction processor; a received packet discard judging unit for judging from the discard command bit and information supplied from the reception buffer pointer controller, whether the received packet is written, suspended, or discarded; and a reception controller for controlling to write the received packet in the reception buffer area in accordance with an judgement by the received packet discard judging unit. With this arrangement, even if there is no space area in the reception buffer area for storing a received packet or even if the received packet cannot be received because of a failure in the reception processor unit, the received packet can be discarded at the reception processor unit.

摘要: In a computer system, a plurality of commands selected by an operator are sequentially inputted to specify respective processing to be executed and respective data to be used in the processing. Each of the inputted commands is executed before an input of a command subsequent thereto to output data resultant from an execution of the command. In the input operation, several commands are supplied to specify, as data to be respectively used by the plural commands, resultant data attained by the execution of commands inputted prior thereto. From the plural input commands are extracted a series of several commands employed to generate at least one resultant data associated with the plural commands and selected by the operator. Based on the extracted command series, there is generated a program executing processing to be achieved by the command series or processing equivalent thereto.
