摘要: The ‘K146-43’ rootstock is an inter-specific hybrid rootstock, useful primarily as a commercial understock for peach and nectarine cultivars. The stock has been successfully propagated clonally by hardwood cuttings. This rootstock imparts a substantial degree of vigor control to the scion cultivar that is propagated on top of it. The utilization of adapted growth controlling rootstocks in commercial orchard situations reduces the height of the individual orchard tree without compromising the quality of the fruit. This in turn increases the efficiency of various cultural operations such as pruning, thinning and harvesting by reducing the need for workers in the field to use tall ladders when carrying out these operations.

摘要: The ‘P30-135’ rootstock is an interspecific hybrid rootstock Prunus saliciana×P. persica, developed for use as a clonal commercial rootstock under peach and nectarine cultivars. Propagation of this stock has been successfully accomplished from hardwood cuttings. The ‘P30-135’ has the characteristic of imparting a substantial degree of vigor control to the scion cultivar that has been propagated upon it. This type of growth-controlling rootstock allows for the reduction of the height of orchard trees without compromising the quality of the fruit borne upon the tree. Size reduction of commercial orchard trees increases the efficiency of various cultural operations such as pruning, thinning and harvesting by reducing the need for workers in the field to carry and climb tall ladders.

摘要: An anti-aliasing technique for sampling an image for display on a pixel based display is presented. The image, or set of objects forming an image, is sampled at a resolution higher than the pixel spatial resolution. The resultant multiple sampled values for each pixel are accumulated, and the accumulated value is used to determine an average pixel value that is used for the display of the pixel. To minimize memory requirements, the rendering plane is used to temporarily store a portion of the accumulated value for each pixel. To minimize processing, the multiple of samples per pixel is a power of 2, and the portion of the accumulated value that is stored in the rendering plane is the most significant bits (MSB) of the accumulated value. Because of the use of a power of 2 as the number of samples, the MSB of the accumulated value is equal to the average of the accumulated value, and therefore the need for an explicit computation of an average for each pixel is eliminated. Because the rendering plane is used to store this average of the accumulated value, the explicit process of moving the computed average value to each corresponding pixel location in the rendering plane is also eliminated.

摘要: A method and apparatus for a processing system to utilize a ring buffer includes a host processor, memory, and at least one co-processor. The host processor generates a plurality of data blocks that relates to a particular application (e.g., word processing application, drafting application, presentation application, spreadsheet application, video game application, etc.). The host processor writes data elements of the data blocks into the memory, which is organized in a ring buffer manner. As the host processor enters the data elements into the ring buffer, it updates a head pointer, which indicates the most current address of a data element entered into the ring buffer, in its local cache. The co-processor retrieves the data elements from the ring buffer and performs a co-processor function in support of the particular application. As the co-processor retrieves data elements from the ring buffer, it updates a tail pointer, which indicates the most recently read data element from memory, or executed data element. The co-processor and host processor exchange the updated tail and header pointers as they are updated, such that both the co-processor and host processor have current records of the tail and header pointers.

摘要: An apparatus for aligning an acetabular cup for proper placement in a socket in hip joint replacement includes a frame having feet which are placed against and fastened to the anterior superior iliac spines and the pubic tubercles respectively of the pelvis. A light beam is directed from a source through an aperture to a mirror mounted on an implant inserter. The light beam is reflected back from the mirror to a target region. When the incident and reflected beams are coincident, the cup is aligned for correct placement. The target region is rotatably and pivotably mounted for precise adjustment of the angles of abduction and anteversion respectively.
