摘要: A method and device for capturing speckles are described. A highly coherent light emitted from a light source is used to illuminate a surface and produces scattered lights. The scattered lights pass through a light restrictive element and the diffracted lights produced by this restrictive element interfere with one another to generate a speckle pattern. An image sensor is then used to pick up the speckle pattern to form a speckle image. Therefore, the effects of diffraction and interference and a light restrictive element to enlarge the speckle size and reduce the variation of the speckle pattern during the movement of the imaging device are utilized, so that the speckle pattern can be clearly identified in the image. As a result, the method and device for capturing speckles are fairly stable and sensitive.

摘要: A phased array antenna module for use in the gigahertz bandwidth. The module includes a metallic core with a pair of chip carrier assemblies secured to opposite sides of the core. The core has an internal waveguide with a signal splitter for directing electromagnetic wave energy evenly to the two chip carrier assemblies. A flexible, cylindrical connector assembly electrically couples the chip carrier assemblies to an aperture board. The aperture board includes a plurality of dipole antenna radiating elements. The module core is coupled directly to a cold plate. A direct thermal path is created between the chip carrier assemblies, the module core and the cold plate for highly efficient cooling of the electronic components on the chip carrier assemblies.

摘要: A method, apparatus, and computer instructions are provided for expressing high availability (H/A) cluster demand based on probability of breach. When a failover occurs in the H/A cluster, event messages are sent to a provisioning manager server. The mechanism of embodiments of the present invention filters the event messages and translates the events into probability of breach data. The mechanism then updates the data model of the provision manager server and makes a recommendation to the provisioning manager server as to whether reprovisioning of new node should be performed. The provisioning manager server makes the decision and either reprovisions new nodes to the H/A cluster or notifies the administrator of detected poisoning problem.

摘要: A system and method for a transceiver structure, where Different Known Guard Intervals (DKGI) are appended to multiple, consecutive data blocks and are then used in combination with Channel State Information (CSI) to restore cyclic convolution in the time domain. Once restored, the CSI and cyclic convolution are transformed into the frequency domain by FFT processing to facilitate equalization of the channel through Frequency Domain Equalization (FDE). Through performance of time domain channel estimation, there is no need for pilot signals and related overhead, thus channel capacity is enhanced.

摘要: A waveguide transition for use with an antenna aperture. The waveguide includes a tubular waveguide component with a concentrically disposed dielectric insert. In one embodiment the inner surface of the waveguide component is non-linear and formed by either a gradually curving surface or a plurality of linear sections disposed adjacent one another to form an overall non-linear surface when viewed in profile. In other embodiments the outer surface of the dielectric insert is shaped so as to form either a gradually curving surface or by a plurality of non-linear, adjacently formed sections that form an overall non-linear shape when the dielectric insert is viewed in profile. The waveguide of the present invention produces significantly improved cut-off frequency performance that allows a greater degree of flexibility in designing the antenna aperture with a desired operating frequency bandwidth.

摘要: A holder for securing a printed circuit board in an edge connector on a mother board in a computer having a cover. The holder body is secured to the top of an installed printed circuit board. An adjustable post is held by the holder and is adjusted so that the head of the post extends slightly past the plane in which the computer cover rests. Next, the cover is installed depressing the head. The head is spring loaded on the post, thereby providing a continuous force on the printed circuit board to hold into the edge connector on the mother board.
