Abstract:
An antenna system may include a reconfigurable array antenna system including a plurality of elements each capable of radiating and receiving electromagnetic energy. The antenna system may also include an electronically reconfigurable power management and control system to selectively power each of the plurality of elements to generate a desired beam pattern.
Abstract:
A probe cover (20) is provided including a tubular body extending from a proximal end (24) to a distal end (26). The proximal end defines an opening configured for receipt of a distal end of a thermometer. The distal end of the tubular body is substantially enclosed by a film (36). The distal end includes at least one end rib (38) disposed about an inner circumference thereof. At least one end rib is configured to engage the distal end of the thermometer such that the distal end of the thermometer is spaced apart from the film. The body may extend in a tapered configuration from the proximal end to the distal end. The end rib can include a transverse portion disposed along a surface of the film. The end rib may include a longitudinal portion extending along the body. The longitudinal portion may extend proximally along the body and the transverse portion may project along a surface of the film such that the longitudinal portion and the transverse portion cooperate to receive the distal end of the thermometer. The body may define at least one longitudinal rib projecting from an inner surface thereof. The body may define at least one protuberance projecting from an inner and/or an outer surface thereof. The longitudinal rib and/or the protuberances can be configured to facilitate nesting of a second probe cover.
Abstract:
A computer implemented system and method employs predictive analysis on purchase data to determine product categories for which a consumer is statistically likely to purchase and either has not purchased or has not purchased at the statistically expected level at a particular retail store or chain of retail stores, and responds by generating a purchase incentive offer for that consumer requiring purchase of a product in the target category as a condition for the consumer obtaining the offered incentive.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to novel compositions of polymer-coated paramagnetic particles, defined as paramagnetic particles non-covalently coated with polymeric materials, which optionally possess targeting ligands, therapeutic agents, or carrier ligands. By selecting from a variety of linker groups and targeting ligands the coated paramagnetic particles are suitable for a wide variety of methods for controlled delivery of the particles. The invention also relates to methods and uses of imaging, diagnosing, and treating diseased or cancerous tissue using the particles.
Abstract:
A flexible and extensible architecture allows for secure searching across an enterprise. Such an architecture can provide a simple Internet-like search experience to users searching secure content inside (and outside) the enterprise. The architecture allows for the crawling and searching of a variety or sources across an enterprise, regardless of whether any of these sources conform to a conventional user role model. The architecture further allows for security attributes to be submitted at query time, for example, in order to provide real-time secure access to enterprise resources. The user query also can be transformed to provide for dynamic querying that provides for a more current result list than can be obtained for static queries.
Abstract:
A method, system and computer-usable medium are presented for remotely controlling a TPM by loading a trusted operating system into a computer; and in response to the trusted Operating System (OS) being loaded into the computer, authorizing a Trusted Platform Module (TPM) in the computer to execute a command that would otherwise require, for execution of the command, an indication of a physical presence of an operator of the computer.
Abstract:
A method is provided for detecting viruses. According to the method, data is stored in a journal area of memory before changes embodied in the data are written to virtual memory. At least a first portion of the data in the journal area of memory is scanned for viruses. In some embodiments, a second portion of data that immediately precedes and/or immediately follows data to which the first portion of the data pertains is scanned for viruses. Preferably, the virtual memory includes a persistent storage device. Also provided is a system that includes a processor, a memory that includes virtual memory and a journal storage area, and a virus scanner controlled by the processor. The virus scanner scans the journal storage area for viruses.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus to identify memory communications are described. In one embodiment, an access to a stack pointer is monitored, e.g., to maintain a stack tracker structure. The information stored in the stack tracker structure may be utilized to generate a distance value corresponding to a relative distance between a load instruction and a previous store instruction.
Abstract:
The present application relates to inhibitors of ribonucleotide reductase subunit 2 (R2), and methods and compositions related to the R2 inhibitors. In certain embodiments, the R2 inhibitors include nucleic acids, such as for example siRNAs.
