摘要: A system and appertaining method provide for pre-fetching records from a central data base to a local storage area in order to reduce delays associated with the data transfers. User patterns for requesting data records are analyzed and rules/strategies are generated that permit an optimal pre-fetching of the records based on the user patterns. The rules/strategies are implemented by a routine that pre-fetches the data records so that users have the records available to them when needed.

摘要: A patient monitoring system (1) is provided with at least one body sensor (2a) for measuring a physiological parameter, as well as with a body signal processing unit (3) connected downstream from the former and/or a therapy device (2) designed to act on the patient (P), and a mobile radiotelephone end unit (7) operable in a cellular mobile radiotelephone network (1B) for transmitting data from the body signal processing unit or the therapy device to a central monitoring station (1C) and/or from the central monitoring station to the therapy device. A base station coordinate memory unit (13; 13′) and a locator unit (12; 12.1′ through 12.3′) connected to the former serves for the rough determination of the location of the patient based on location information obtained from the current base station connection of the mobile radiotelephone end unit in the mobile radiotelephone network. For the fine position determination, a direction-finding transmitter (300) that sends out a direction-finding signal is provided in the mobile radiotelephone end unit (7). A separate direction-finding device (310) serves for the fine tracking of the direction-finding signal.

摘要: A rate-adaptive pacemaker includes an impedance measuring device for measuring a waveform over time of the intracardial impedance over at least a predetermined portion of one cardiac cycle. An impedance processing device obtains an impedance value from the waveform. A rate determining device is connected downstream of the impedance processing device, and controlled by a sequence controller, determines the adaptive stimulation rate (HR) using the impedance value. The impedance processing device has an integrator stage for determining the time integral of the impedance waveform over the predetermined portion of the cardiac cycle as the primary impedance value.

摘要: A brush holder mechanism for electric motors, especially the fractional horsepower commutator-equipped motors of workshop power tools. In order to prevent failure of the tool due to jamming of the carbon brushes in their holders, the brush holder according to the invention provides that the brush holder casing in which the carbon brush moves has smooth, flat and uninterrupted interior surfaces and the casing is constructed of a single piece of metal or a single piece of metal on which a continuous cover plate is attached. The integral construction of the casing insures that the casing is not deformed during manufacture or assembly, in particular by the bending of parts of the casing into fastening tabs and the like. In the brush holder according to the invention, the fastening means are integral with the cover plate or the casing. In other embodiments, the casing is held in a receiver by clamps and screws. The electrical connection between the brush and the electrical supply cable is made by plug-in components, for example a plug-in cover plate which also provides support for the brush spring. A number of embodiments is presented.

摘要: A method is described for monitoring a charging process of a battery, in which cell voltages of a plurality of battery cells are measured at regular time intervals, and loading of the battery by a process of switching on an additional electrical load is prevented if the measured cell voltage of one battery cell exceeds a predetermined cell voltage threshold value. A motor vehicle is also described, which is configured to carry out the method according to the disclosure during a battery charging process. In addition, a battery system is described, in which a controller is configured to determine an estimated value as a function of measured battery parameters during a charging process of the battery. The estimated value corresponds to the maximum temperature in the battery if the charging process is continued without interruption.

摘要: A patient device (PD) for wireless data communication with an implant. The PD can be at least in an unpaired state or a paired state. In the paired state the PD is paired to a specific implant specified by an implant's identification code (IIC). The IIC is stored in PD memory. Automatic pairing of the PD to a specific implant is performed upon receiving an incoming data packet containing an IIC when the PD is in its unpaired state with no valid IIC stored in memory. Thus, the PD is tentatively paired to an implant identified by the IIC contained in the incoming data packet by storing the IIC in the memory. Tentative pairing is cancelled if no further communication occurs within a predetermined period of time. A soft paired state is entered if further data communication does occur.

摘要: The invention relates to a transmission module for transmitting data in the form of useful digital signals by modulation of a carrier, determined by the useful signals, by means of frequency shift keying. The transmission module contains a PLL circuit with a voltage-controlled oscillator and a controllable frequency divider with a frequency divider control input. The transmission module is designed to induce direct frequency shift keying (DFSK) of the carrier signal by appropriate triggering of the frequency divider with at least two different frequency divider control signals, and it has a modulation data preprocessing unit, which is connected to the frequency divider control input and is designed to weight samples of the same polarity of the useful signals to be transmitted and to fine tune the frequency divider control signal with regard to the frequency deviation to be induced.
