Abstract: A method detects electrical fault states of a removable battery pack. Cell voltage values of a plurality of energy storage cells of the removable battery pack are detected by a first monitoring unit integrated in the removable battery pack and a voltage of the removable battery pack is detected by a further monitoring unit integrated in an electrical device, in particular a charging device, a diagnostic device or an electrical consumer, that can be connected to the removable battery pack. The cell voltage values detected by the first monitoring unit are transmitted to the further monitoring unit. The further monitoring unit sums the cell voltage values and compares this with the voltage value of the removable battery pack.

A system includes at least one energy storage device designed as an exchangeable replaceable battery pack and an electric consumer for discharging the exchangeable replaceable battery pack and/or a charging device for charging the exchangeable replaceable battery pack. The exchangeable replaceable battery pack, the electric consumer, and the charging device each has an electromechanical interface with a plurality of electric contacts for performing the method.

Abstract: A device may include a battery module configured to power a load. The device may include a precharge relay switch electrically connected between the positive node of the battery module and the load and in series with a precharge resistor. The device may include a negative relay switch electrically connected between a negative node of the battery module and the load. The precharge relay switch and the negative relay switch are set to a closed state and the positive relay switch is set to an opened state when an electrical connection to the load is detected at a first time, and the precharge relay switch is set to an opened state and the positive relay switch is set to a closed state at a second time when a difference between a voltage across the load and a voltage of the battery module satisfies a threshold difference.

Abstract: A battery pack (174; 174′) having at least one all-solid-state battery cell for driving a motor of a battery-powered portable tool (1) can be charged using regenerated electric power generated by an electric motor (196). However, charging with regenerated electric power might cause damage to the battery pack if the battery cells are not in a state capable of being recharged with regenerated electric power. Therefore, the battery pack includes a battery-condition determination circuit that is configured or programmed to: (i) assess the condition of the at least one all-solid-state battery cell and (ii) generate an electrical signal that indicates whether or not the battery pack is in a state that permits charging using the regenerated electric power.

Abstract: Disclosed are a battery and an electronic device, where the battery includes a first electrode plate, a second electrode plate, a control unit, and a first tab and a second tab that are connected to the first electrode plate, and the first electrode plate and the second electrode plate have opposite polarities. The control unit includes a heating control circuit, and in a case that the battery is connected to an external power supply, the heating control circuit is configured to: when a battery temperature of the battery is less than a first temperature threshold, conduct the first tab, the first electrode plate, and the second tab to heat the battery. A charging speed of the battery at a low temperature may be improved, and lithium deposition and capacity fading of the battery may be slowed down.
