摘要： A hub for winding a magnetic tape thereon comprises a clamp for retaining one end of a magnetic tape. The novel tape clamp comprises a substantially rigid upper web, a resilient lower web and a pair of legs depending from the ends of the upper web and connected to the ends of the lower web. The lower web supplements the resilient force of the legs. As the upper web is not subjected to a stress, the magnetic tape is wound properly on the upper web.

The tape cassette includes a reel spring which is abutted against tape reels for elastically holding them. The reel spring comprises a spring body formed at an intermediate portion thereof in a longitudinal direction thereof with a plurality of mounting holes through which the reel spring is mounted on an inner surface of an upper casing member. The spring body is provided on each of both sides thereof in the longitudinal direction with one or two positioning recesses, each of which is positioned adjacent to each of the mounting holes.

The protrusions and recesses are equally spaced apart along one and the same circle and are aligned in position to those formed on the reverse side of the same circular ring.
