摘要： A tape winder includes: a hub, around which a tape is wound overlappingly and which forms a tape roll on the hub; a first guide roller, defining the position of feeding of the tape into the tape roll being formed on the hub while pressing an outer peripheral surface of the tape roll; and a moving mechanism, moving the first guide roller away from the rotation axis of the hub as the tape roll increases in diameter. A rotation axis of the first guide roller is positioned along a normal to a reference surface and the rotation axis of the hub intersects the rotation axis of the first guide roller at an angle θ. The tape is processed to provide winding curl to the tape through winding the tape on a tapered hub with inclination and a heat treatment to fix the winding curl.

摘要： In a single-reel type tape cartridge, a coupling portion of a leader tape includes a pair of winding pieces disposed at opposite sides of a cutout and each winding piece includes a base portion and a turnover portion wound around a pin of a leader member so as to be ultrasonically welded to the base portion. An anvil for supporting the coupling portion of the leader tape has a pair of anvil faces each having a width smaller than that of the turnover portion and ultrasonic welding of the turnover portion to the base portion is performed by supporting the coupling portion on the anvil faces. The turnover portion is divided into a completely welded area having a width substantially equal to that of each of the anvil faces and an incompletely welded area disposed outside each of opposite side edges of the completely welded area.

By doing so, it is possible to prevent the melted material from flowing out in a wide range across the contact surface and the formation of deep concaves at a part formed of melted material.

A plurality of locking teeth engageable with a reel retainer and a plurality of driving teeth engageable with a driving shaft of a tape drive are, respectively, formed circumferentially on upper and lower surfaces of an outer peripheral edge portion of a bottom wall of the hub so as to project therefrom. On the lower surface of the bottom wall of the hub, a gate position for injection molding is provided at a position corresponding to that for forming the locking teeth.

摘要： There is provided a leader tape which is capable of preventing breakage of a tape body when the tape body is pulled out, and a tape cartridge incorporating the leader tape. A leader tape includes a tape body having one end fixed to a tape, for enabling the tape to be pulled out of a cartridge body, and a pin attached to the tape body, for pulling out the tape therewith. The tape body has a portion on a side of another end opposite to the one end, the portion being folded such that the folded portion surrounds the periphery of the pin and that the folded portion has a leading end portion thereof welded to a tape surface of the tape body opposed to the folded portion. The welding is effected non-densely in at least one of a pin-side boundary portion of a welded area where the leading end portion and the tape surface opposed thereto are welded to each other and a one end-side boundary portion of the welded area.

摘要： A base is provided for horizontally supporting a magnetic tape cassette with its tape access door held open. Magnetic tape from the cassette is threaded around a plurality of removable guide posts and is held horizontally within an elongate recess by a pair of hingedly mounted clasps. A groove extends diagonally across the recess for permitting a cutting implement to slice through the length of tape aligned in the recess. Wrinkled segments of tape are removed by feeding the tape to the appropriate location in the recess, closing the clasps and making the necessary cuts. The cut ends of the good tape are then abutted in alignment within the recess. A splicing key guided by detents in the base is used to affix the adhesive layer of a splicing tab over the abutting cut ends to thereby splice the tape together. The base is formed with a plurality of receptacles for holding accessories such as the removable guide posts, a screwdriver, a pair of scissors, and a knob for rotating the reels of the tape cassette. When a cassette is not mounted on the base and the accessories are stored in their corresponding receptacles, a clear cover fits over the base to retain the accessories and thereby provide a readily storable splicing kit.
