    摘要: The discharge lamp according to the present invention is composed of a slender translucent airtight vessel 1a, an inner electrode 1c fixed inside one end of 1a, a discharge lamp 1 provided with a discharge medium composed mainly of rare gas, and an outer electrode 2 composed of a conductive wire arranged on the outer surface of translucent airtight vessel 1a. The outer electrode 2 is placed within a half circumference of the translucent airtight vessel in a first area 2a of the translucent airtight vessel 1a, which extends in a range between a top end of the inner electrode 1c and a position having a predetermined length in the forward direction of the translucent airtight vessel 1a. The outer electrode 2 is placed within an entire circumference of the translucent airtight vessel 1a in a second area 2b of the translucent airtight vessel 1a, which extends in the rest of the length of the translucent airtight vessel 1a.

    摘要: Provided is an image forming apparatus that is capable of reducing noise ascribable to wind noise of fans by performing control of the rotation speed of each cooling fan even during a print process. After power-on at timing T0, when a fixing temperature reaches a waiting temperature (timing T1) or after a print process is finished (timings T3, T6, and T9), a laser printer 1 enters a ready mode and a sub-fan and a power supply fan are driven to rotate at middle speed. From the start of a print process performed for the first time (timing T2), until timing T5 at which a counter X has counted four minutes, each fan is driven to rotate at middle speed during the print process (timings T2 to T3 and T4 to T5). After the, each fan is driven to rotate at high speed (timings T5 to T6 and T8 to T9). Then, when a counter Y has counted a time period set for the ready mode and then a counter Z has counted a time period set for a sleep mode, the counter X is reset. Following this, the counter X restarts counting when a print process is started for the first time after the resetting.

    摘要: A fluorescent lamp of this invention has a phosphor film formed on the inner wall surface and a discharge medium containing xenon-gas filled in the glass tube having the sealing portions at both ends. In this one end in the glass tube, an inner electrode is arranged and a first feeding lead wire connected to this inner electrode is connected to one of the sealing portion by penetrating airtight. On the outer surface of the glass tube, an outer electrode composed of a conductor spirally wound round it along the axial direction of the tube. At the other end of the glass tube, a second feeding lead wire is buried in the sealing portion and the other end is lead out of the glass tube. The end of this outer electrode is electrically connected to the second feeding lead wire and mechanically fixed there. Further, the outer surface of the outer electrode including the glass tube is covered with a translucent resin film layer and thereby, fixing the outer electrode to the outer surface of the glass tube in one united body.

    摘要: An image forming apparatus includes a cleaning member for collecting toner left on an image carrier after image transfer, and then redepositing it on the carrier, so that a developing unit can collect the redeposited toner to reuse it. Even when the frictional charging ability of the cleaning member falls due to aging or varying environment, the charge of the toner left on the image carrier is regulated to preselected polarity before the toner reaches the cleaning member, thereby enhancing a toner collecting efficiency and a toner redepositing efficiency. The charge of the toner redeposited on the image carrier and moved away from the cleaning member is regulated to preselected polarity while being increased, thereby reducing a load to act on the developing unit. The toner is redeposited on the image carrier efficiently without regard to the polarity of the toner collected by the cleaning member. The developing unit is allowed to collect all the toner redeposited on the image carrier, thereby freeing the background of an image from contamination. When the cleaning member collects the toner from the image carrier, the toner is prevented from being transferred from the cleaning member to the image carrier, thereby obviating defective cleaning. An image forming speed is increased by reducing the interval between consecutive image forming areas. A pressure is caused to act uniformly between the cleaning member and the image carrier in the axial direction of the roller, further enhancing the toner collecting efficiency and toner redepositing efficiency while obviating background contamination.

    摘要: An image recording apparatus for recording an image directly on a recording medium by transferring a toner to the medium. The toner is caused to fly toward the medium by small energy to form a high resolution image. A developing roller transports the toner in a predetermined direction. A flat electrode is located in the vicinity of the developing roller. A control electrode is provided on the flat electrode at a position where the flat electrode is remotest from the developing roller, while being electrically insulated from the flat electrode. The control electrode is made up of a number of recording electrodes and has an opening through which the toner may fly toward the medium.
