The disclosed shutter control circuit presents a shutter time as an analog value and converts the same into a digital value by an A/D converter, then nullifies information below a prescribed step of shutter time out of thus digitally converted value for effecting shutter time control based on a digital value which is above said prescribed step. In such a type of shutter time control circuit, even when an analog value as a preset value contains a certain error, the shutter time control can be done with said error being corrected and thus it is very convenient. In this case, however, an error in a positive direction only can be corrected, and an error in a negative direction can not be corrected. The present invention has been completed in view of the above and is to provide a shutter time control circuit which can correct the above mentioned analog value or A/D converted digital value by a prescribed amount so that errors in both the positive direction and the negative direction can be corrected in the above mentioned type of shutter time control circuit.

After a time interval from the closure of the X sync contact, the condenser is short-circuited to prevent refiring of the flash tube. Such refiring would otherwise be caused when the condenser is recharged to actuate the SCR during the period of closure of the X sync contact.

A digital system for controlling coordination of the various portions of the camera to operate in selected modes including the automatic and bulb modes is provided with signal forming means comprising a count start switch and a bulb control switch connected in parallel to each other. Where the automatic mode is selected, in a predetermined time interval after the initiation of an actuation of release of the camera, as the both switches are open, the signal forming means produces an actuating signal which is then applied to discriminating means, causing the shutter to operate automatically. Where the bulb mode is selected, no actuating signal is produced even after the termination of duration of the predetermined time interval so that the discriminating means permits the opening of the shutter to continue until the termination of the release actuation.

A safety device for preventing non exposure of film in a camera having a count switch which is normally closed prior to shutter release operation, the switch being opened after the shutter release operation begins to enable a timing circuit to start operating. In a preferred embodiment, the device includes a NOR gate having an input connected to one side of the count switch, and its output connected to the set terminal of a flip-flop which enables the shutter release operation. Another input of the NOR gate is connected to a differentiation circuit which provides an output signal when the shutter release button on the camera is actuated. This circuit arrangement operates so that the flip-flop is not set if the count switch is accidently in an open state when the release button is actuated. The shutter release operation is thereby prevented until the count switch is restored to working order.

An automatic exposure control apparatus for controlling the diaphragm of the camera in accordance with the preselected shutter time and the exposure value, in which a digital-to-analog converter having a counter responsive to the number of pulses supplied from a clock pulse generator through a gate produces a time variable output capable of attaining a certain level dependent upon the preselected shutter time and a light value as photoelectrically sensed, that is, an exposure value and, which is detected by a first comparator. The output of the first comparator is applied to the gate, so that the converter is set to memorize the exposure value therein. As the diaphragm presetting ring is moved from the maximum to minimum aperture position with production of a time variable output from a signal generator associated therewith, a second comparator responsive to the attainment of the time variable output of the signal generator to a level dependent upon the final output of the set converter produces an output which is applied to arresting means for the diaphragm presetting ring. This results in automatic adjustment of the position of the presetting ring. At the time the presetting ring begins to move, the diaphragm driving means is actuated causing the diaphragm means to be brought into engagement with the ring. Thus, an effective exposure aperture is established in the diaphragm means.

The device includes a permanent magnet for attracting a movable iron armature. A pair of elongated rectilinear magnetic bodies have planar pole faces at one end facing the iron armature, and the permanent magnet is sandwiched between these two magnetic members intermediate their ends, with the permanent magnet extending perpendicularly to the magnetic members. Respective magnetizing windings embrace each magnetic member between the permanent magnet and the pole faces of the members, to produce a magnetic flux in the magnetic members opposing the flux provided by the permanent magnet so as to release the iron armature. In one embodiment of the invention, the other ends of the members, projecting beyond the permanent magnet, are angled to face each other to provide an air gap therebetween. In a second embodiment of the invention, the magnetic members or yokes have respective second windings thereon, beyond the permanent magnet, and the ends of these yokes, beyond the second windings, are formed with planar pole faces for operative association with a second iron armature. Both iron armatures are spring biased to disengage the magnetic yokes or members. As the permanent magnet engages the yokes intermediate their ends, the magnetic flux path due to the magnetizing windings does not include the permanent magnet and therefore an effective armature releasing magnetic flux can be provided with only a relatively small current supplied to the magnetizing windings.
