摘要: A transcoder calculates a reference conversion factor on the basis of a ratio between a total target bit rate of a whole second stream and an total input bit rate of a whole first stream and calculates a coefficient of variation from the total target bit rate of the whole second stream and an average output bit rate of a converted second stream in the N period. Next, a quantization step conversion factor in the next (N+1) period is calculated by adding the coefficient of variation to the reference conversion factor. Then, a quantization step value of a second stream in the (N+1) period is calculated by multiplying a quantization step value of a first stream in the (N+1) period by the quantization step conversion factor.

摘要: An image processing circuit inputs pixels arranged in RGB Bayer pattern. A chroma value calculation circuit calculates a chroma coefficient for evaluating chroma of a peripheral region of a target pixel. A correlation value calculation circuit calculates a correlation value for gray image and a correlation value for color image. When the chroma coefficient is higher than a first threshold value, a correlation judging method for color image and a pixel interpolation method for color image are selected. When the chroma coefficient is not higher than the first threshold value and higher than a second threshold value, a correlation judging method for gray image and the pixel interpolation method for color image are selected. When the chroma coefficient is not higher than the second threshold value, the correlation judging method for gray image and a pixel interpolation method for gray image are selected. Interpolation is executed in a pixel interpolation circuit.

摘要: In an image signal encoding method for encoding an image signal using motion compensation, a motion vector is found by means of a block matching method, a first distortion SEmc of motion compensated prediction associated with the motion vector, and a second distortion SEnomc of prediction without motion compensation are detected, the motion vector is used for for inter-picture prediction encoding when SEnomc>SEmc+K, with K being a constant greater than 0, and a vector having a value zero is used, in place of the motion vector, for inter-picture prediction encoding when SEnomc≦SEmc+K. In another aspect, a speed of motion in a sequence of pictures is detected, and for a part of the sequence of pictures detected to contain a quick motion, the prediction encoding is performed using one-way prediction encoding, and for a part of the sequence of pictures without a quick motion, prediction encoding is performed using bi-directional prediction encoding. In another aspect, the image signal is subsampled for each field, and a motion vector is determined using the field-subsampled image signal.
