摘要: A method for encoding a multi-view frame in a video encoder is provided that includes computing a depth quality sensitivity measure for a multi-view coding block in the multi-view frame, computing a depth-based perceptual quantization scale for a 2D coding block of the multi-view coding block, wherein the depth-based perceptual quantization scale is based on the depth quality sensitive measure and a base quantization scale for the 2D frame including the 2D coding block, and encoding the 2D coding block using the depth-based perceptual quantization scale.

摘要: Systems, methods and computer readable mediums are presented for encoding a stream of input video frames, in which the input video frames are down sampled and the down sampled frames are encoded in a first encoding pass to generate a set of first pass coded frames forming a single first pass I frame and a plurality of first pass P frames formed into first pass sub-groups of pictures (SUB-GOPs). First pass encoding statistics are generated for individual first pass SUB-GOPs, and the statistics are used to encode the input video frames in a second encoding pass to generate a set of second pass coded frames.

A processor or encoder is configured to operate according to a set of constraints that constrain the encoding process for asset changes, wherein the set of constraints configures a set of allowable asset change point locations from a set of possible asset change point locations, wherein the set of allowable asset change point locations is a subset of the set of possible asset change point locations, and configures a set of allowable data access types from a set of possible data access types, wherein the set of allowable data access types is a subset of the set of possible data access types. Video data is encoded based on the set of constraints to generate encoded first video data, such that the encoded first video data comprises a set of asset change point locations and associated data access types in compliance with the set of constraints.

摘要: Example implementations relate to translating a data structure to a video frame structure. For example, a computing device may perform a method of receiving analytic values of a data structure and converting the analytic values into raw pixel data such that each analytic value of the data structure is represented as a pixel in a video frame structure of pixels. The raw pixel data may be encoded into an I-frame in response to a determination that a difference between the raw pixel data and previous raw pixel data associated with previous analytic values exceeds a specified threshold. First data associated with at least one I-frame is retrieved in response to a request to view data changes exceeding the specified threshold.

摘要: A method and apparatus for encoding surveillance video where one or more regions of interest are identified and the encoding parameter values associated with those regions are specified in accordance with intermediate outputs of a video analytics process. Such an analytics-modulated video compression approach allows the coding process to adapt dynamically based on the content of the surveillance images. In this manner, the fidelity of the region of interest is increased relative to that of a background region such that the coding efficiency is improved, including instances when no target objects appear in the scene. Better compression results can be achieved by assigning different coding priority levels to different types of detected objects.

In accordance with some implementations, The method includes determining a first set of shot-change locations associated with a cut transition in a video sequence based on variance data defined in an encoding log associated with at least one previously encoded video frame. The method further includes determining a second set of shot-change locations associated with a fading transition in the video sequence based on the variance data defined in the encoding log associated with the at least one previously encoded video frame. The method also includes processing the video sequence based on at least a portion of the first set of shot-change locations and the second set of shot-change locations.

摘要: Approaches to selection of motion vector (“MV”) precision during video encoding are presented. These approaches can facilitate compression that is effective in terms of rate-distortion performance and/or computational efficiency. For example, a video encoder determines an MV precision for a unit of video from among multiple MV precisions, which include one or more fractional-sample MV precisions and integer-sample MV precision. The video encoder can identify a set of MV values having a fractional-sample MV precision, then select the MV precision for the unit based at least in part on prevalence of MV values (within the set) having a fractional part of zero. Or, the video encoder can perform rate-distortion analysis, where the rate-distortion analysis is biased towards the integer-sample MV precision. Or, the video encoder can collect information about the video and select the MV precision for the unit based at least in part on the collected information.

The method at the first node comprises developing at least one modified hierarchical algorithm from a known hierarchical algorithm operable to substantially recreate at least one section of higher-quality visual data. References to one or more known hierarchical algorithms from which the modified hierarchical algorithms were developed are transmitted to the second node along with one or more modifications to the one or more known hierarchical algorithms operable to reproduce the one or more modified hierarchical algorithms from the known hierarchical algorithms. The second node is able to recreate substantially the higher-quality video using the modified hierarchical algorithm.
