摘要: A motion estimation technique finds first and second candidate bi-directional motion vectors for a first region of an interpolated frame of video content by performing double ended vector motion estimation on the first region. One of these candidate bi-directional motion vectors is selected, and used to identify a remote region of the interpolated frame. This remote region is located at an off-set location from the first region, and is found based on an endpoint of the selected candidate bi-directional motion vector. A remote motion vector for the remote region of the interpolated frame is obtained, and one or more properties of this remote motion vector are used to bias a selection between the first and second candidate vectors.

摘要: A method of processing video data includes classifying, by processing circuitry, luma samples of a neighboring luma block of a reference block and luma samples of a neighboring luma block of a current block into a plurality of groups and deriving, by the processing circuitry, one or more local illumination compensation parameters for each group of the plurality of groups to generate a plurality of local illumination compensation parameters for the current block. The method further includes deriving, by the processing circuitry, a plurality of linear models between the neighboring luma block of the reference block and the neighboring luma block of the current block using the plurality of local illumination compensation parameters for the current block and generating, by the processing circuitry, a prediction block using the plurality of linear models.

摘要: A moving picture coding apparatus includes a motion compensation coding unit for deciding a coding mode for coding a current block to be coded and for generating predictive image data based on the coding mode, and includes a direct mode enable/disable judgment unit for judging whether or not scaling processing can be performed when the coding mode decided by the motion compensation coding unit is a temporal direct mode. When it is judged that the scaling processing cannot be performed, the motion compensation coding unit performs motion compensation either by using another coding mode or without the scaling processing.

摘要: A method and apparatus of motion compensation using the bi-directional optical flow (BIO) techniques are disclosed. According to one method, the use of BIO is extended to general bi-prediction motion compensation by including the case that two reference pictures correspond to two previously coded pictures. According to another method, the use of BIO is adaptively applied depending on the linearity of the two motion vectors associated with the two reference blocks or depending on block size of the current block. According to yet another method, the refined motion vectors by compensating the original motion vectors with the respective x-offset values and y-offset values are stored in a motion-vector buffer for motion vector prediction of one or more following blocks.
