摘要： It is made possible to provide a three-dimensional image display device by which a viewing zone can be readily adjusted in the parallel-ray one-dimensional IP system, without a decrease in processing speed. A three-dimensional image display device includes: an elemental image display unit that has pixels arranged in a matrix form in a display plane, and displays an elemental image; an optical plate that is placed to face the elemental image display unit, extends straightly in a vertical direction, and controls a light ray from the elemental image display unit, the optical plate having optical apertures arranged at intervals in a horizontal direction; and an image data converting unit that converts image data so as to replace missing image data with a neighboring parallax component in same the elemental image, based on the average width of elemental images in an input image data and the optimum average width of elemental images in a three-dimensional video image to be output.

A three-dimensional image display device includes: an elemental image display unit that has pixels arranged in a matrix form in a display plane, and displays elemental images; an optical plate that is placed to face the elemental image display unit, has optical apertures that extend linearly in a vertical direction and are arranged at regular intervals in a horizontal direction, and controls light rays from the elemental image display unit; and an image data converting unit that converts image data so that single-color portions having periodically varying widths are inserted to boundary portions between the elemental images, the width varying with locations in the elemental image display unit, the inserted single-color portions being asymmetrical in the entire elemental image display unit.

摘要： There is provided a liquid crystal display which is capable of preventing light from leaking out from the peripheral portion of pixels and which has a high display performance. The liquid crystal display comprises: an array substrate including a plurality of scanning lines and a plurality of signal lines, a plurality of switching elements, a plurality of pixel electrodes, and a first alignment layer which is formed on the first substrate so as to cover the pixel electrodes; a counter substrate including a counter electrode and a second alignment layer which is formed on the second substrate so as to cover the counter electrode; and a light control layer sandwiched between the array substrate and the counter substrate, and including a liquid crystal material having a spontaneous polarization and having a nematic phase or an isotropic phase on a high-temperature side of a chiral smectic C phase, an optical axis of liquid crystal molecules in the light control layer substantially staying when no electric field or a first electric field of a first polarity are applied to said liquid crystal material, and the optical axis of the liquid crystal molecules responding in accordance with a magnitude of a second electric field of a second polarity different from the first polarity when the second electric field is applied to said liquid crystal material, wherein an electric field between the scanning lines and the counter electrode has the first polarity when the switching elements turn on.

摘要： In a stereoscopic image imaging method which captures an image of an object to be displayed as a stereoscopic image, a three-dimensional image is generated in real time from multi-viewpoint images captured by a multi-camera, and is displayed on a viewer provided to the multi-camera, thus allowing a photographer to adjust an imaging condition. The photographer is informed of parameters, which implements a display state adjusted by an observer of a three-dimensional display while observing the three-dimensional image, via the viewer, and the photographer can capture appropriate multi-viewpoint images.
