摘要： A circuit breaker is equipped with both a rotary operating handle and a power unit for selective manual and motor driven operation thereof. Mechanical and electrical control elements cooperate to insure a reliable operation in both the manual and motor driven operating modes, and, as a safety measure, to provide fool-proof, visual indications of the circuit breaker condition during the progressive stages of either operating mode. The power unit utilizes a permanent magnet, DC motor for improved performance and economies in design.

摘要： A circuit breaker includes an operating mechanism having powerful mechanism springs to achieve the requisite contact pressures for high current carrying capacity. A single crank of a rotary handle through a relatively small arc of 120.degree. resets the operating mechanism via a reciprocating slide and a latching mechanism, while loading the mechanism springs. Return of the handle to its original position shifts the line of action of the springs such as to abruptly straighten a toggle and achieve rapid closure of the circuit breaker contacts. The latching mechanism is equipped with plural circuit breaker tripping capabilities, together with a lockout and bell alarm switch accessory.

摘要： A spring-loaded cam electrical connector is used to rapidly connect circuit breaker load terminal straps with the associated electric distribution system wire conductors. 摘要： An air circuit breaker ratcheting mechanism includes a ratchet and pawl whereby the closing springs charging gear is prevented from reverse rotation during the closing springs charging operation. Upon completion of the charging operation, the ratchet and pawl become disengaged from the charging gear to allow the closing springs to respond to a manual closing, command. An operating handle pivot assembly allows a molded plastic handle operator to be employed and the ratcheting mechanism is arranged for modular assembly during the circuit breaker manufacturing process as well as motor to manual charge conversion one site.
