    摘要: A substrate for a recording head includes a circuit through which current flows upon impression of a source voltage, irrespective of the operating state of an energy converting element, and a current cutoff means for cutting off current to the circuit in response to an entered control signal. A reset signal for achieving a standby state of the printing operation serves as the control signal. The current cutoff circuit is operated when the reset signal is active in an H state, and it cuts off the constant current. By cutting off the constant current, the leak current of a heater power source VH may be accurately measured, permitting determination of whether the source voltage wiring is properly insulated from other circuit elements of the substrate. The constant current may also be cut off in the standby state, in which printing is not performed, so as to reduce power consumption.

    摘要: A liquid discharge head includes a pair of substrates mutually fixed in lamination, a plurality of liquid flow paths arranged on the bonded faces of the substrates, the leading end of the plural liquid flow paths being communicated with a plurality of discharge ports, a plurality of heat generating members arranged on at least one of the substrates corresponding to each of the liquid flow paths and a movable member having in the liquid flow path the free end thereof on the discharge port side, and a region between the heat generating member and the movable member, where liquid exists. In the liquid discharge head, a bubble is created by enabling thermal energy generated by the heat generating members to act upon the liquid, and the bubble is controlled by the movable member to discharge liquid in the liquid flow paths from the discharge ports to the outside. Further, all of the movable members, members becoming side walls of liquid flow paths, members supporting the movable members, and members supporting the walls of liquid flow paths are formed by materials containing silicon and the side walls of liquid flow paths are formed by patterning the material containing silicon formed on the surface of one of the pair of substrates in the liquid discharge head.

The free end of the movable member is displaced toward the discharge port side about the fulcrum portion of the movable member by pressure produced by the bubble being created to thereby discharge the liquid from the discharge port.     摘要: A substrate is formed for use of an ink jet recording head provided with a plurality in heat generating members for generating thermal energy to be utilized for discharging ink, an interlayer film arranged for the lower layer of each of said heat generating members, and a protection layer for protecting said heat generating member. Each of the heat generating members of the substrate is structured by metal and insulator, and at the same time, the rate of metal content in the vicinity of the interfaces of the heat generating member becomes smaller than that in the center of the heat generating member in the film thickness direction thereof. With the structure of such member thus arranged, it is made possible to prevent or suppress interlayer peelings and cracks from taking place in each of the heat generating resistive layers where temperature changes are made intensely due to thermal cycle.
