摘要: An inkjet recording apparatus and an inkjet recording method which enable changing a droplet amount without changing a droplet speed of an ink discharged from the same nozzle, and including an inkjet head which expands and contracts a capacity of a pressure chamber by applying a driving signal to an actuator and a driving circuit which applies the driving signal to the actuator, the driving signal including a first expansion pulse which starts from a reference potential and expands the capacity of the pressure chamber, a first contraction pulse which contracts the capacity of the pressure chamber to discharge the ink from the nozzle, a second expansion pulse which expands the capacity of the pressure chamber, and a second contraction pulse which contracts the capacity of the pressure chamber and returns to the reference potential in the mentioned order, the driving circuit being configured to enable discharging different droplet amounts of the ink from the same nozzle by changing a potential difference between a start edge and an end edge of the first contraction pulse.

摘要: The invention relates to a method for actuating an inkjet print head, comprising at least one printing system having a nozzle on the side of an ink chamber which faces a substrate to be imprinted, and which is delimited at least in areas, preferably in its area facing away from the print substrate, by a diaphragm that is movable away from the ink chamber by electrically actuating a piezo element that is mechanically coupled to the diaphragm, so that ink is drawn into the ink chamber from a reservoir, and the diaphragm is movable into the ink chamber so that an ink drop is ejected from the ink chamber through the nozzle, wherein the printing system made up of the ink chamber, diaphragm, piezo element, and the electronic control system thereof represents an oscillatable structure which, when actuated at high energy, is excited to oscillate at a natural frequency fres that exhibits resonance; i.e. the oscillation with the period Tres=1/fres undergoes little or no attenuation, and wherein the brightness of a pixel to be printed is varied in that, for each pixel, a sequence of multiple ink drops is ejectable in succession from the same nozzle at a time interval of Tdrop=1/fdrop, and energy is only introduced into the printing system via the actuation signal precisely when an ink drop is actually to be ejected.

The large format printer includes a print head which performs printing in accordance with variations in a drive voltage signal which is applied to a drive element, a control circuit which generates a drive signal (an example of the drive voltage signal), and a cable which is greater than or equal to 1 m and transmits a power voltage signal (an example of a constant voltage signal) and the drive voltage for driving the print head from the control circuit to the print head. An overshooting prevention circuit which renders a voltage (a drive voltage) of the drive signal which is applied to the drive element less than or equal to a voltage (a power voltage) of the power voltage signal is disposed in the print head.

The detector detects the residual vibrations in a third period when the drive signal having a drive waveform is supplied to the piezoelectric element. The drive waveform being set to a first potential in a first period, a second potential in a second period, and a third potential in the third period. The volume of the pressure chamber in the second period is smaller than the volume in the first period. The volume of the pressure chamber in the third period is larger than in the second period.

摘要: A specifying section specifies in printing data a first dot position at which a defective nozzle discharges an ink droplet to print the ink droplet on a medium when the defective nozzle is not defective, but is normal, and specifies in printing data a second dot position different from the first dot position based on priority information in which priority is set for each pixel. A data correcting section corrects the printing data. The collecting corresponds to allocating an amount of ink of the first dot position to the second dot position. When the first dot position at which the ink droplet is provided to the medium if the defective nozzle is not defective is specified, a neighboring second dot position different from the first dot position is specified based on the preset priority information, and the data correcting section corrects the printing data so as to allocate the amount of ink to the second dot position based on the mount of ink of the first dot position.
