摘要: A toner having an amorphous resin, a crystalline resin, and a colorant, wherein the crystalline resin has a melting temperature of at least 70° C. and a recrystallization point of at least 47° C. exhibits improved document offset properties and improved heat cohesion. Annealing the toner further improves the heat cohesion and morphology of the toner.

摘要: Ultra low melt toner compositions with improved non-additive heat cohesion are disclosed. These toner compositions include toner particles comprising amorphous resins containing at least one unsaturated moiety, and when the toner particles are surface treated with a peroxy compound and optionally with a peroxy promoter compound, the surface of the toner particles is cross-linked to form a thin, robust shell. Processes for preparing the toner compositions are also described.

摘要: A toner process comprising heating a mixture of a latex and a colorant, which heating is accomplished below about the glass transition temperature, Tg, of polymer contained in the latex; cooling; and subsequently adding a methacrylate polymer solution; adjusting the pH of the mixture resulting to permit the methacrylate polymer to precipitate on said mixture of latex and said colorant; and wherein resulting product is heated above about the glass transition temperature, Tg, of said latex polymer.

摘要: The present teachings describe an apparatus for mixing developer. The apparatus includes a first loader for dispensing a predetermined amount of toner particles into a container and a second loader for dispensing a predetermined amount and carrier particles in the container. A sealer seals the container. An acoustic mixer is provided for mixing the container, toner particles and carrier particles at a resonant frequency. A method of mixing developer is disclosed.

摘要: A process for preparing a toner includes forming an emulsion with a buffer solution and an amorphous biodegradable polyester resin represented by Formula (1): wherein each n independently represents an integer of 1 to about 20 and x and y represent respective ratios of respective monomeric units and x ranges from about 0 to about 1000 and y ranges from about 0 to about 300; adding a colorant, a coagulant, and optionally a wax to the emulsion to form a mixture; heating the mixture, permitting aggregation and coalescence of the mixture to form toner particles; and recovering the toner particles.
