摘要： A thread is passed through a dyeing apparatus before the thread is supplied to a sewing machine as an upper thread. The dyeing apparatus has a cylinder containing a plurality of coloring members, each coloring member containing a coloring liquid of a different color. The cylinder is rotated by a manually operated dial to select one of the coloring members in accordance with a stitch to be sewn with a sewing machine. A coloring section of the selected coloring member is exposed to the outside of the cylinder for establishing contact between the thread and the coloring section. A heat-set roller is adapted to come into contact with the thread for heat-setting the coloring liquid applied thereto. The contact between the thread and the coloring member and the heat-set roller is actuated in response to operation of the sewing machine.

摘要： A rotation switching device for a sewing machine having a lock stitching mechanism and an overlock stitching mechanism. The device includes a rotatable operating member and a base disc connected to the operating member and movable in a vertical direction upon rotation of the operating member between a rest position in which the base disc is above the machine mounting surface and an operating position in which the base disc projects downward farther than the feet on the lower face of the machine body. In this position the base disc contacts the machine mounting surface to lift the body of the sewing machine from the mounting surface, whereby the body of the sewing machine may be rotated in a horizontal plane to place either the lock stitching mechanism or the overlock stitching mechanism to a use position.

摘要： A suturing machine for suturing incised parts of a patient by producing continuous stitches by means of a curved needle and a shuttle includes a pair of grips terminated with jaws adapted to hold the curved needle which forms a thread loop on the parts to be sutured. A shuttle holder is slidably positioned on one of the grips to move the shuttle with a shuttle thread towards the curved needle to produce a lock stitch with the thread loop. The shuttle holder functions when the needle is standstill.

摘要： A sewing machine comprises a housing, a needle bar adapted for reciprocating movement by a main shaft rotatably mounted in the housing and a fabric feeding device. A pattern control device is provided in the sewing machine which includes a number of needle bar control cams and fabric control cams operated by the main shaft. Two manually operated pattern selecting arrangements are mounted in the housing of the sewing machine including cams and cam followers and which are operatively connected to the fabric feeding device to control the movement thereof. In accordance with these pattern selecting arrangements the minimum rotation angle of the operating dial is made considerably large for selecting one of the pattern cams to thereby provide relatively small push angles for operating cam followers.

摘要： A sewing machine provided with a set of pattern generating cams is also provided with a user-operated multi-setting pattern selector dial. When the selector dial is turned to a particular setting, to thereby cause the pattern generating cams to generate the corresponding pattern, a first mechanism automatically selects a respective feed pitch (amount of cloth feed per needle penetration), appropriate for the type of pattern selected. Accordingly, the user is not troubled to determine, by trial or error or otherwise, what feed pitch values would be clearly unsuitable for the selected pattern, and is instead automatically presented with a standard feed pitch value appropriate for the selected pattern. However, the user can also turn a second selector dial to increase the automatically selected standard feed pitch value by an amount up to 50% thereof, or alternatively to decrease the automatically selected feed pitch value by an amount up to 50% thereof, for example to take into account unusual thinness or thickness of the cloth being sewn on.

The position of the zipper foot on and with reference to the supporting member can be changed in direction transversely of the upright presser bar of the sewing machine, to thereby make it possible to move the zipper foot to positions in which the sewing machine can be used to sew a zipper, and to a position in which the sewing machine can be used for other work not involving the sewing of a zipper; this eliminates the need for removing the zipper foot at such times when the machine is not used to sew a zipper.

摘要： An upper thread carried by a vertically reciprocating needle is drawn from a bobbin through a tensioning device, a supply device and a take-up lever. A predetermined amount of the upper thread is first supplied by actuating the supply device, while applying no tension thereto. An additional amount of the upper thread is then supplied by operation of the take-up lever with a predetermined tension being given thereto. The additional amount is detected by a sensor. The supply device includes a one-way clutch for allowing the upper thread to travel in a predetermined direction which, however, may not be conveyed from the needle side when the supply device is made operative. A CPU controls the amount of thread first supplied by the supply device which will always be smaller than an amount actually required for producing a stitch, resulting in an additional amount to be supplied supplemental in cooperation with the tensioning device.
