At least the front end portion of the rotating shaft is urged resiliently toward the surface of said extrusion block by the action of an elastic member such as a spring. The connection of the cutting tool to the shaft is a universal connection. Thus, the cutting tool can tilt in any desired direction with respect to the axis of rotation of the rotating shaft and thereby maintain the cutting edge of the blade flat against the flat surface of the extrusion block. The rotating shaft has mounted thereon at least one drive pin which projects forward and comes into engagement with the cutting tool.
