摘要: Resources are allocated on a shared downlink control channel by an allocation table that is partitioned into a first, fixed length partition and into at least one second, variable length partition. The fixed length and the modulation and coding scheme MCS of the first partition is known a priori. The second variable length and the MCS of the second partition may be given in the first partition. Robustness may be varied between different second partitions of the same allocation table, or even within a single second partition to account for users at different proximity to the network node giving the allocations. Users may be identified in the first partition (e.g., a fixed number of users), and/or in the second partition (either additional allocated users or all users being allocated if the first partition does not identify users). Method, apparatus, computer program, integrated circuit and systems are detailed.

摘要: A method, device, computer program product, integrated circuit, and system are described to dispose pilot sequences (for aiding a receiver in estimating a channel) in a frame structure that has subframes of sub-carriers and symbol positions. Locations of common pilot sequences are predetermined, and includes 1) in each subframe, a pilot sequence is disposed in a first symbol position for each of at least two staggered sub-carriers, and 2) in at least one subframe, at least one pilot sequence is disposed in other than the first symbol position and in a sub-carrier other than any of the at least two staggered sub-carriers. Dedicated pilot sequences, whose locations in the frame are not predetermined, are disposed in response to an indication of channel quality received over a wireless link. Common pilot sequences may relate to one or two transmit antennas, and dedicated pilot sequences may enable addition of third and fourth transmit antennas.

摘要: A radio link service profile is defined as a set of parameters for upper layer transport of an IP packet, and may be associated with a logical channel flow identifier. A data packet is sent over a wireless logical channel that is identified by the LCID between a base station and a user equipment. The association of RLSP, whether created or invoked form a memory, is coordinated among the BS and the UE without the need to involve the radio network controller, and if the RLSP does not have a diffserv field on the uplink, the BS adds it prior to forwarding the data packet. A method, device (both BS and UE), computer program product, and system are described in multiple embodiments.

摘要: In order to control the use of physical radio resources, the physical radio resources are divided into chronologically consecutive frames (14), so that a frame contains slots (16, 17, 18) of various sizes, which slots represent a given share of the physical radio resources contained in the frame and can be individually allocated to different radio connections. The first dimension of a frame is time and the second dimension can be time, frequency or code. In the direction of the second dimension the slots represent various sizes, and a given first integral number of slots of the first size can be modularly replaced by another integral number of slots of another size. A certain number of consecutive frames form a superframe (19), in which case frames with corresponding locations in consecutive superframes are equal in slot division and allocations, if the data transmission demands do not change. Changes in the state of occupancy of the slots are possible at each superframe. In order to form an uplink connection, the mobile station sends a capacity request, where it indicates the type of requested connection and the demand of resources. In order to form a downlink connection, the base station subsystem sends a paging call, where it indicates the location in the superframe of the slots allocated to the connection. In order to indicate the state of occupancy, the base station subsystem maintains a superframe-size parametrized reservation table.

摘要: An apparatus and a method for transferring an audio/video/data service from a transmission end to a reception end over a radio interface. The audio/video/data service includes one of audio information, video information and data. The radio interface includes a plurality of subchannels and a plurality of carriers for transmitting the audio/video/data service and at least one information channel. The audio/video/data service is divided into a set of files, wherein the set of files forms a service ensemble. A parameter group is associated with and describes each corresponding one of the files. Each of the files, along with a corresponding parameter group is placed onto one of the subchannels. A placement indicator and a corresponding parameter group is placed on the at least one information channel. The subchannels and the at least one information channel are multiplexed into a plurality of transmission frames which are digitally modulated for transmission to the reception end over the radio interface using the plurality of carriers. The reception end receives the plurality of carriers and demodulates, from the carriers, the transmission frames, separating the subchannels and the at least one information channel. Information received from the at least one information channel is used for separating the parameter groups from the subchannels. The parameter groups are used for forming a selective service by combining and processing substantially only desired files.
