    摘要: Communication software to aid portable computers monitor, and correct problems accessing a network through a wireless access point. The software controls the exchange of information with other portable computers in the vicinity of the wireless access point. The information exchanged may be used to diagnose problems at the wireless layer, the network layer, the transport layer or the application layer. The information exchanged may provide information about the configuration of computers that successfully or unsuccessfully communicate through the wireless access point. A portable computer receiving this configuration information may compare it to similar information about its own configuration to diagnose problems. Such software may be of particular benefit for portable computers experiencing difficulty connecting to a network at a wireless hot spot.

    摘要: In one embodiment, an apparatus is provided with a system circuit, a scanout circuit and an error detecting circuit. The system circuit is adapted to generate a first output signal in response to a data input signal and a system clock signal. The scanout circuit is adapted to generate a second output signal in response the data input signal and the system clock signal. The error detecting circuit, coupled to the system circuit and the scanout circuit, is adapted to generate an error signal in response to a relative condition between the first output signal and the second output signal.

A gate-level representation of the electronic system is converted to a graph, the graph having vertices and edges that correspond to nodes and gates of the electronic system. Input vectors are generated, which correspond to inputs supplied to the electronic system. A soft error rate for the electronic system is evaluated during a simulated operation of the electronic system, and the evaluated soft error rate is correlated to a set of parameters used to configure the electronic system.

    摘要: A method for delivering a geometric type stress relief element to a terminated electrical cable is provided. The cable contains a conductor surrounded by at least one coaxial layer of insulator, semiconductor, grounded wires and cable jacket. First, the terminated cable is tapered to expose a portion of the conductor so as to protrude beyond the insulation, which protrudes beyond semiconductor, which protrudes beyond the conductive wires. A geometric stress cone is preloaded onto a cold shrink tube. The terminated, tapered cable is inserted into the cold shrink tube. The cold shrink tube is removed and the geometric stress cone collapses onto the tapered cable. The cable is rated for supplying high voltage.

    摘要: A system with an accompanying method is provided to improve the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of noisy speech by suppressing acoustic background noise. The background noise consists of narrow band noise from rotating machine, audio signals from stereo-loudspeakers of audio entertainment device, and other ambient noise. In this system/apparatus, a microphone senses the speech intermingled with the background noise, and another microphone senses the noisy background. In addition, a measurement sensor is used to measure RPM (revolutions-per-minutes) of the rotating machine and two wires are used to acquire audio signals from the stereo-loudspeakers of the audio entertainment device. Furthermore, to provide better suppression performance for the acoustic audio signals, the characteristics of these loudspeakers are used to compensate for the distortion caused by the loudspeakers. Adaptive comb filters and adaptive FIR filters are applied to estimate the ambient noise and suppress the background noise. After processing, the system outputs the enhanced speech signal with higher SNR.
