    摘要： A method for the production of polycarboxylic acids is provided via the present invention. The novel method herein comprises the steps of i) mixing a phosphorous containing reducing agent with at least one carboxylic acid monomer to form a reaction mixture; ii) adding an equivalent of base to the reaction mixture to provide a partially neutralized reaction mixture; and iii) adding a free radical generator to the partially neutralized reaction mixture under polymerization conditions to form a phospho/carboxylic acid polymer containing solution. Preferred monomers, reducing agents and free radical generators are also disclosed.

The process involves the domestic or commercial laundry application of a phosphonate- and phosphinate-containing polycarboxylate cross-linking agent followed by at least partial curing of the cross-linking agent via the application of heat to the article. The present invention also includes an article of manufacture or product comprising the treatment composition, at least one container for the treatment composition and accompanying text instructing the user of the product on application of the treatment.

    摘要： A method for providing enhanced suds volume and suds duration in dishwashing using liquid detergent compositions comprising a polymeric material which is a suds enhancer and a suds volume extender, said compositions having increased effectiveness for preventing re-deposition of grease during hand washing are provided. The polymeric material which are suitable as suds volume and suds endurance enhancers comprise an effective amount of a quaternary nitrogen-containing monomeric unit and/or zwitterionic monomeric unit-containing polymeric suds enhancer comprise: i) units capable of having a cationic charge at a pH of from about 4 to about 12; provided that said suds enhancer has an average cationic charge density of 2.8 or less units per 100 daltons molecular weight at a pH of from about 4 to about 12; b) an effective amount of a detersive surfactant; and c) the balance carriers and other adjunct ingredients; provided that a 10% aqueous solution of said detergent composition has a pH of from about 4 to about 12.
