The present invention provides a processing method which allows a silver halide color photographic material to be sufficiently desilvered and minimizes the rise in the formation of bleaching fog or stain even when it is processed in a short period of time. A novel process for the processing of a silver halide color photographic material comprising at least silver halide emulsion layer on a support which comprises subjecting the silver halide color photographic material to color development, and then processing the silver halide color photographic material with a processing solution having a bleaching capacity is provided, characterized in that said emulsion layer comprises tabular silver halide grains having �100! major faces and a silver chloride content of 50 to 100 mol % and said processing solution having a bleaching capacity contains at least one ferric complex salt of a compound represented by the following general formula (I): ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3, R.sub.4, R.sub.5 and R.sub.6 each represent a hydrogen atom, aliphatic group, aromatic group or hydroxyl group; and W represents a divalent bridging group containing carbon atoms; and M.sub.1, M.sub.2, M.sub.3 and M.sub.4 each represent a hydrogen atom or cation. The total coated amount of silver in the silver halide color photographic material is in the range of 2.0 to 8.0 g/m.sup.2 per m.sup.2 of light-sensitive material. The compound represented by the general formula (I) comprises an �S,S! optical isomer as determined about the carbon atoms to which R.sub.1 and R.sub.4 are bonded in a proportion of not less than 70%.

This method makes it possible to reduce an amount of the processing solution waste to be drained from the processing machine.

A method for continuously processing an image-wise exposed silver halide color photographic material comprising the steps of color developing, bleach-fixing and at least one of washing with water and stabilizing. A replenisher is supplied to the bleach-fix bath to result in an overflow of from 30 to 500 ml/m.sup.2 of the photographic material processed. The bleach-fixing step further comprises collecting the bleach-fix overflow, regenerating the collected bleach-fix bath overflow by adding thereto a regenerant to produce a regenerated bleach-fix bath, and reusing the regenerated bleach-fix bath as a replenisher to the bleach-fix bath. The regeneration rate defined as the amount of bleach-fix overflow used for regeneration divided by the total amount of overflow multiplied by 100% is more than 80%. The photographic layers of the silver halide color photographic material have a degree of swelling of from about 2.5 to 4.0. The silver halide color photographic material further has a silver coverage of less than about 0.8 g/m.sup.2. The above described method solves problems of poor desilvering, inadequate color reproduction and undesirable cyan thermal discoloration which generally accompany reuse of the bleach-fixing bath.

In the silicon substrate having porous oxidized silicon layers of this invention, which consists of a silicon substrate the one surface of which is dotted with porous oxidized silicon layers, the residual internal stress (compression stress) is dispersedly distributed in the porous oxidized silicon layers. Therefore, the entire silicon substrate having porous oxidized silicon layers of this invention is only minimally warped.Adopting a method for producing the silicon substrate of this invention which consists of covering with a mask the surface of a silicon substrate except its dotting areas to be treated, subjecting the silicon substrate to anodic formation in an aqueous hydrofluoric acid solution to form porous silicon layers in the areas to be treated and not covered with the mask and then oxidizing the formed porous silicon layers enables secured production of a silicon substrate dotted with porous oxidized silicon layers.
