摘要： A liquid crystal display includes a liquid crystal display panel having a plurality of liquid crystal cells and aback light that irradiates the liquid crystal display panel with irradiation light. The back light includes a light source and a light guide plate having one side arranged adjacent the light source and having a planar surface with a plurality of small concaves. The planar surface is substantially parallel to a liquid crystal cell face and a plane shape of the small concaves is substantially rectangular.

摘要： A liquid crystal display having a pair of substrates having electrodes on opposing surfaces thereof, at least one of the substrates being transparent. A continuous liquid crystal layer is sandwiched between the pair of substrates and the liquid crystal layer includes first and second liquid crystal gel layers each with polymer enabling alignment. A direction of orientation of the liquid crystal molecules included in the first liquid crystal gel layer is orthogonal to a direction of orientation of the liquid crystal molecules included in the second liquid crystal gel layer.

摘要： A refrigeration system uses a refrigerant which contains, as a main component, hydrocarbon or HFC-152a. A fluid tube, such as, a gas charge port tube is hermetically connected to a refrigerant flow passage in the refrigeration system for filling at least the refrigerant into the refrigerant flow passage. The fluid tube is sealed against leakage of the refrigerant from the refrigerant flow passage by means of a pinched portion and a squashed portion of a flat-plate shape which extends from the pinched portion to a distal end thereof. The squashed portion may be folded at a plurality of portions for enhancing the sealing effect. Further, instead of the squashed portion, an adhesive may be used for reinforcing the sealing effect provided by the pinched portion. Alternatively or with the use of the adhesive, an elastomer may be used for reinforcing the sealing effect provided by the pinched portion.

摘要： An automatic transmission system having a belt type infinitely variable gear is housed in a transmission casing. The transmission casing is formed of a torque convertor housing portion in which the torque convertor is housed and an infinitely variable gear housing portion in which the infinitely variable gear is housed. A forward-reverse switching mechanism is provided between the torque convertor and the primary shaft of the infinitely variable gear and is supported on the torque convertor housing portion. Opposite ends of the primary shaft of the infinitely variable gear are supported on support portions respectively formed on the infinitely variable gear housing portion and the torque convertor housing portion, and opposite ends of the secondary shaft of the infinitely variable gear are supported on support portions respectively formed on the infinitely variable gear housing portion and the torque convertor housing portion.

摘要： The disclosure relates to a projector having an arrangement of polarizers and liquid crystal cells aligned on the axis of light in the order a first color polarizer colored in red, a first twisted nematic liquid crystal cell, a second twisted nematic liquid crystal cell, a second color polarizer colored in a green, a third twisted nematic liquid, a neutral polarizer and Guest-Host type colored in blue. Since, according to this, a polarizer having inferior color characteristics can be replaced by a Guest-Host type liquid crystal cell, the excitation purity and the scope of color reproduction are improved. Further, since the mixture of color is additive, the brightness of the reproduced color is also much improved.
