    摘要: An image reading apparatus includes: three line sensors mutually spaced in a sub scanning direction; a platen arranged between the original and the three line sensors; a mover moving the platen at a rate relative to the three line sensors, the rate being different from that of the original relative to the three line sensors; a first lightness difference detector extracting a first feature pixel of a first level from each of three data output from the three line sensors; a second lightness difference detector extracting a second feature pixel of a second level; and NOR and AND devices comparing the three data corresponding to a single location on the original to detect the first feature pixel extracted from one of the three data, as a noise pixel if the second feature pixel is not extracted from the other data.

If it is decided that the input image data are out of the reference range, the calibration is performed so that the color reproduction range is made close to the reference range.

    摘要: An image reading apparatus is provided which is capable of correctly reproducing a read image, by correcting variation in read data derived from variation in light intensity and variation in sensitivity, using reading means capable of logarithmic conversion such as an LOG CCD. As variation in read data caused by insufficient light intensity in a shade region of an original is corrected, even when there is a shade in an original image having halftone gradation, satisfactory image reproduction is possible. Since variation in read data caused by insufficient light intensity at the time of zooming is corrected, image quality is not degraded even when electrical zooming is performed. Further, variation in read data caused by fluctuation in light intensity, variation in photosensitivity and types of original is corrected, AD conversion with uniform resolution is possible even when output levels differ because of light distribution variation of a light source or variation in sensitivity of sensors.
