Abstract: Presented are systems, methods, apparatuses, or computer-readable media for monitoring control channels. A wireless communication device may receive, from a wireless communication node, a higher layer configuration. The wireless communication device may determine, according to the higher layer configuration, the upper limits. The upper limits may include a maximum number of physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) candidates to be monitored per slot (M-PDDCH) and a maximum number of non-overlapping control channel elements (CCEs) per slot (M-CC). The wireless communication device may determine at least one time domain duration to apply the upper limits. The wireless communication device may decode at least one PDDCH according to the upper limits, within the at least one time domain durations.
