摘要: In some embodiments, an apparatus, for reducing or stopping flow through a tubular structure of a patient, includes an elongate member arranged to form a frame having a distal and proximal opening and configured to be positioned within a lumen of the tubular structure. The frame includes a proximal, distal, and middle portion. The distal portion is tapered such that an outer cross sectional dimension (OCSD) of the distal opening is less than an OCSD of the middle portion. The frame is configured to be inverted such that the distal portion moves within and toward the middle portion for removing the frame from within the lumen. The apparatus also comprises a flow reducing member coupled to the frame such that when the frame is positioned within the lumen, the flow reducing member substantially reduces or totally obstructs flow of at least one of emboli and fluid flowing through the lumen.

摘要: This disclosure contains methods, devices, and systems for object removal from a body, including removal of a stent from a body. Methods of the present disclosure include inflating a balloon on a catheter, engaging a stent with a socket defined by a surface of the balloon, the surface inwardly sloped toward a lumen of the catheter, and retracting a portion of the stent through the socket and into the lumen. The present disclosure also includes methods for making a catheter, including forming a balloon, inverting a portion of the balloon, and attaching the balloon to a catheter such that a surface of the balloon defines a socket that is inwardly sloped toward a lumen of the catheter.

摘要: A mechanism for removing a fluid-filled object from a patient. The apparatus includes a deflation tube with a puncture member at one end of the tube for piercing a hole in the object wall. The apparatus includes a retrieval mechanism slidable within the deflation tube lumen. The retrieval mechanism includes an expansion element that is expandable when positioned within the object from a first configuration with a dimension less than that of the deflation tube lumen to a second or deployed configuration with a dimension that is greater than an outer dimension of the puncture member. The expansion element contacts an inner surface of the inflatable object as the deflation tube and retrieval mechanism are withdrawn from the body cavity. The expansion element may be a T-bar, a foldable anchor, an inflatable member, or another expandable form.

摘要: A device for grasping a body part is preferably a catheter having a proximal end and distal end, the proximal end being juxtaposed a user while in use. A grasping section is attached to the catheter near or at the distal end. The grasping section has a first position wherein a body part may be received by the grasping section and a second position wherein the grasping section grasps the body part with sufficient force to enable the operator to move the body part to a desired location.

摘要: A removable device such as a stent-graft, intended for applications where it may be desirable to remove the device at some time following implantation. The stent-graft of the present invention includes a helically-wound stent component provided with a covering of graft material. It is removable by gripping an end of the helically-wound stent component with a retrieval device and applying tension to the stent component in the direction in which it is intended to be withdrawn from the site of implantation. The use of such a retrieval device allows the stent-graft to be removed remotely, such as via a catheter inserted into the body at a different location from the implantation site. The design of the stent-graft is such that the stent component is extended axially while the adjacent portion of the graft separates between windings of the stent component. The axial extension of the stent component, with portions of the graft still joined to the stent component, allows the device to be “unraveled” (or “unwound”) and removed through a catheter of diameter adequately small to be inserted into the body cavity that contained the stent-graft. It is removed atraumatically, without incurring significant trauma to the body conduit in which it had been deployed.
