摘要: The present invention relates to a reflux disease treatment apparatus, comprising two or more movement restriction device segments adapted to form an implantable movement restriction device with an elongated shape that maintains cardia in the correct position. The movement restriction device has proximal and a distal end, wherein the distal end is adapted to stabilize and hold the proximal end. The invention further comprises a control device for controlling the stimulation device to stimulate the cardia sphincter. The distal end can be further adapted to treat obesity, for example by stretching the wall of the stomach or filling out a volume of the stomach.

摘要: A system includes an adjustable implant configured for implantation internally within a subject and includes a magnet configured for rotation about an axis of rotation, the magnet operatively coupled to a drive transmission configured to alter a dimension of the adjustable implant. The system includes an external adjustment device configured for placement on or adjacent to the skin of the subject having at least one magnet configured for rotation, the external adjustment device further comprising a motor configured to rotate the at least one magnet and an encoder. Rotation of the at least one magnet of the external adjustment device effectuates rotational movement of the magnet of the adjustable implant and alters the dimension of the adjustable implant Drive control circuitry is configured to receive an input signal from the encoder.

摘要: A method of deploying an intraluminal device to the cardiac region of the stomach and an intraluminal system used to deploy an intraluminal device to the cardiac region of the stomach, wherein the intraluminal device has a wall defining a surface and an open portion of the surface that is adapted to be aligned with the gastroesophageal (GE) junction. The surface and the cardiac portion of the stomach are conformable with each other. The method includes deploying the intraluminal device trans-orally to the stomach with an endoscopic deployment device and retaining the device against the cardiac region of the stomach with the open portion generally aligned with the GE junction. The intraluminal device is fastened to the stomach from the abdominal cavity with at least one laparoscopic instrument while concurrently visualizing the device with an endoscope in the stomach while it is being fastened. The laparoscopic instrument is adapted to respond to the endoscope in order to adjust location between the laparoscopic instrument and intraluminal device while the laparoscopic instrument is fastening the intraluminal device.

摘要: An apparatus for the treatment of acid reflux disease comprising two or more movement restriction device segments adapted to be movement restriction device of a controlled size. The movement restriction device can at least partly be invaginated by a patient's stomach fundus wall. A substantial part of the outer surface of the movement restriction device is adapted to rest against the stomach wall without injuring the latter in a position between the patient's diaphragm and at least a portion of the lower part of the invaginated stomach fundus wall, such that movement of the cardiac notch of the patient's stomach towards the patient's diaphragm is restricted, to thereby prevent the cardia from sliding through the patient's diaphragm opening into the patient's thorax, so as to maintain the supporting pressure against the patient's cardia sphincter muscle exerted from the patient's abdomen.

摘要: A medical device includes a vessel member, a port that couples a compartment interior of the vessel member to a region exterior of the vessel member, and a tubular member that defines a lumen. A distal end of the tubular member is attached to an internal surface of the vessel member within the compartment so that a portion of the internal surface of the vessel member provides a seal at a distal end of the lumen. The tubular member passes through the port, and the proximal end of the tubular member is configured to remain exterior of the compartment. A delivery of a sufficient amount of a filling material into the lumen of the tubular member causes a length of the tubular member to pass through the port and into the vessel compartment.
