摘要: In a method for the intermittent occlusion of the coronary sinus, in which the coronary sinus is occluded by an occlusion device, the fluid pressure in the occluded coronary sinus is continuously measured and the occlusion of the coronary sinus is released as a function of at least one parameter derived from the measured pressure values, a perfusate is introduced into the occluded coronary sinus or at least a vein running into the coronary sinus, wherein the control of the introduced amount of perfusate is performed under consideration of at least one parameter derived from the measured pressure values. The device for the intermittent occlusion of the coronary sinus includes an occlusion means for the occlusion of the coronary sinus, a control means for the triggering or release of said occlusion and a pressure measuring means for the determination of the fluid pressure prevailing in the coronary sinus during the occlusion. A duct capable of being introduced into the coronary sinus, or a vein running into the coronary sinus, and charged with a perfusate as well as a perfusate pump connected with an automatic control are provided, wherein the pressure measuring means comprises a memory for the measured pressure values and is connected with a computation unit for the calculation of at least one parameter derived from the measured pressure values. The control of the introduced amount of perfusate is performed under consideration of the parameter derived from the measured pressure values.

摘要: A drainage device includes a vessel having a plurality of sub-chambers one of which is a regulated drainage collection chamber, and two of which cooperate to maintain a selected suction level in the drainage collection chamber. A stopcock proximate to the vessel communicates directly with the two cooperating sub-chambers, and allows quick adjustment and stable operation in varying environments. A float ball arrangement provides an indication of water loss that may compromise the water seal. The device is suitable for wound drainage, and may be used as a cardiotomy reservoir or a thoracic cavity drain device. Different embodiments collect blood for autologous infusion.

摘要: An apparatus (B) for reanimating new-born children with at least two stages provided with an inhaling pressure controlling device. In this apparatus during breathing by blowing pressure, a breathing is possible according to "IPPV+PEEP and CPAP". The breathing apparatus (B) is of a simple construction and affords high safety for the patient. The breathing apparatus (B) has in a first breathing stage a water column (2) the maximum pressure of which corresponds to the maximum inhaling pressure. In the second breathing stage, a choke is connectable to the water column (2) of the first stage. In one embodiment the choke (6) is removable, in another embodiment it is made of a water column (32) connected in series. With the second stage higher limited blowing pressures may be used for the lungs. In order to obtain a constant static pressure upon expiration and a positive pressure at the end of expiration it is possible to secure on the expiration opening (5,23) of the patient's adaptator (4) another choke (6,6') which may be identical to the second stage choke.

摘要: An apparatus for selectively measuring central venous pressure and effecting hyperalimentation through a single catheter inserted into a central vein of the patient. The apparatus includes a manometer, a first selector valve connected to an upper portion of the manometer tube, a hyperalimentation fluid supply connected to the valve, a sterile air supply connected to the valve, a second selector valve connected to a lower end portion of the manometer tube, a waste container connected to the second selector valve, and a catheter connected to the second selector valve. The first selector valve is arranged to connect alternatively the hyperalimentation fluid supply or the sterile air supply to the upper end portion of the manometer tube, and the second selector valve is arranged to connect alternatively the lower end portion of the manometer tube selectively to the waste container or the catheter. A check valve may be connected between the waste container and the second selector valve and an isolation valve may be connected between the catheter and the second selector valve. A lock is provided for locking the catheter to the connection to the second selector valve. The selector valves in the illustrated embodiment are defined by two-way stopcocks. The apparatus is completely closed at all times relative to the ambient atmosphere.

摘要: A portable respirator, of the volume cycle type, is powered by and supplied with compressed medicinal gas, requiring no electric power. The respirator is capable of operating in an automatic mode in which a fixed volume of gas is supplied to the patient for a first selected period of time, exhalation is prevented for a subsequent second period of time, and then the patient is allowed to exhale for a subsequent third selected period of time. The respirator can also operate in a demand mode, in which each cycle is triggered by the attempt of the patient to inhale. The respirator shifts automatically from demand mode to automatic mode cycling and triggers an alarm in the event that the patient becomes too feeble to attempt to inhale. The respirator may also be used as an anesthesia ventilator during surgery.

摘要: Disclosed herein is an improved manometer in which the calibrated scale for reading the fluid pressure is provided on a transparent sheath rather than directly on the manometer tube, the sheath being slidably mounted on the manometer tube. This sheathing permits the zero point of the scale to be readily adjusted and includes a cylindrical portion integral with a wing, the wing carrying the scale either as a direct imprint or as an insert in the wing. An indicator for marking the meniscus level encapsulates the sheathing. The indicator is slidable on the sheathing and has a mark for establishing the pressure reading for subsequent reference.
