摘要： A swinging bob toy having an outer bob and middle bob on a string, with the middle bob having a bore through which the string passes to allow the middle bob to slide along the string. The middle bob has a substantially toroidal, liquid-containing bladder. The mass of the liquid contributes substantially to the overall mass of the middle bob, but the viscosity of the liquid and the dimensions of the bore of the toroid are such that the dynamic moment of inertia (i.e., a moment of inertia dependent on linear and/or rotational velocity and/or acceleration, of a history thereof) is small as the middle bob begins its rotation as the outer bob passes the top of its orbit. The viscosity of the liquid is small enough that as the outer bob traverses the top of its orbit the dynamic moment of inertia is small and the string does not tangle about the middle bob, yet large enough that as the outer bob traverses the bottom of its orbit the rotation of the middle bob is slowed and the string tension does not exhibit a rapid peak.

摘要： The invention includes a concave cup specifically designed to hold various size basketballs. The cup has a stem which inserts and is held securely in a precision bearing, which in turn is held firmly in the splined finger gripping portion of the invention. The splined finger gripping portion of the device is held securely on the finger of a person, by an o-ring. The o-ring rolls up and down on the splined portion and is prevented from rolling off by the molded protrusions at the bottom of the splined finger gripping portion of the invention. The splines are tapered to allow for expansion and contraction to fit various finger sizes.

摘要： A method permits a knot to be tied in a rope that is being held with one hand. The rope includes a first end and a weighted second end, and has a length extending therebetween that permits a user implementing the method to tie a knot therein. Initially the rope is held in one hand such that the weighted second end of the rope is suspended and the rope is taut between the hand and the second end. Moving the hand holding the rope in a first direction and in a second direction causes a loop to form between the hand and the rope second end. As the rope is moved in the opposite direction, momentum permits the rope weighted end to pass through the rope loop to form a knot.

摘要： A method and apparatus for teaching and improving manual dexterity and hand/eye coordination, includes a generally rectangular solid object which is adapted to be flipped or tossed into the air and caught using solely the back of one hand, or the backs of the immediately adjacent finger segments. The object is relatively small and light, with at least slightly rounded corners, to preclude injury to the bony and unpadded back(s) of a person's hand and/or fingers. The object may include markings, instructions, and/or luminescence thereon, if desired. The method generally comprises moving the back of the hand and/or fingers to manipulate the object thereon. The object may be tossed into the air, using either the fingertips or from the back of one hand or the other, and caught by the tossing person or by another in a group. Other maneuvers may be made, including arcuately moving the arm and hand to invert the hand momentarily, and manipulating the hand so as to retain the object thereon throughout the maneuver, or catching the object behind the leg, etc. Manual dexterity and hand/eye coordination is much improved for an individual who has developed the skills required to perform the above maneuvers and exercises.

The tube has a mouthpiece at one end with a cup at the other end. The cup has a slightly more concave curvature than the convex curvature of the ball creating an air space between the cup and the ball. A port in the cup connects the tube to the air space and biases the flow of air in one direction causing the ball to spin when the ball is offered to the cup and a stream of air is blown down the tube.

摘要： A mobile geometrical form having two helical sections interdigitally wound into each other about a common axis. The helical sections are of substantially the same radius and are out of phase with respect to each other. Each end of one helical section continues into a twisted loop, which in turn continues into the adjacent end of the other helical section to thereby form a unitary structure. The geometrical form is comprised of a double sided continuous strip of material. Optionally, a tube axially extends through the helical sections and serves to anchor the loops at either end in spaced apart relationship, while permitting translatory motion of the unitary structure therethrough.
