摘要: An exhaust system for use with automobile engines and industrial plants for filtering exhaust emissions. An exhaust system comprises the exhaust pipe from the combustion chambers, the dehydrating filters and the cleaning device for the removal of detrimental matter from exhaust gases to protect the environment against pollution. The cleaning device includes the container with an inlet, an outlet and a vertical partition to separate the container into two chambers which contain the water solution of chemical substances to remove the detrimental matter from the exhaust gases. The cleaning device also includes the dehydrating filters. The exhaust gases passing through the water solution and dehydrating filters are caused to give up and deposit the hydrocarbons, the particulate material and to dissolve the pollutant gases, for example, the carbon dioxide and to form the carbonic acid.

摘要: A process and apparatus are provided whereby sulfur and nitrogen oxides as well as carbon monoxides and unburned hydrocarbons are removed from internal combustion engine exhaust gases. The gases are passed through a chamber containing a sulfide and an oxide of iron, copper or zinc. The system is partially self-regenerating and can be used in conjunction with present catalytic converter units or in lieu thereof. In certain embodiments the present invention can also replace muffler units in exhaust systems.

摘要: An apparatus for treating engine exhaust gases for the effective removal of carbon monoxide, hydrocarbons and/or the oxides of nitrogen from the exhaust system of mobile internal combustion engines. A readily accessible exhaust treating tube in the engine exhaust pipe system contains a removable and disposable open end cartridge which, in turn, contains a fibrous filter which is impregnated with a chemical solution for treating the exhaust gases passing therethrough. The disposable cartridge may be easily replaced at regular intervals by simply removing the spent cartridge and inserting a new one.
