    摘要: A dresser apparatus is provided for a strand of blow-molded articles interconnected by shorter flashings. A first pair of first rollers and a second pair of second rollers are of the gear type and are mounted for rotation to define pinching planes therebetween along which the strand is directed. The second rollers are relatively spaced to engage the articles and flashings passing therebetween, and are spaced from the first rollers such that the second rollers engage each flashing or article while a succeeding article or flashing is being engaged by the first rollers. A second moving device rotates the second rollers at a predetermined speed which is greater than the speed of the first rollers. Thus, each flashing or article is pulled from the succeeding article or flashing. A final pair of final rollers is mounted for rotation and defines a final pinching plane rotated (turned) with respect to the second pinching plane so that deformation of the articles caused by engagement with the first and second rollers is compensated for by passage through the final rollers. The dresser apparatus may include a third pair of third rollers spaced from the second rollers by a distance longer than the flashings but shorter than the articles so that the separated flashings fall between the second and third rollers while the articles are passed from the second to the third rollers.

    摘要: Apparatus for removing tail flash from molded plastic articles, such as containers or bottles, in which a pair of reciprocatory jaw assemblies are formed with meshing teeth which engage the flash from opposite sides and subsequently tear the flash from the article. The jaw assemblies are formed with meshing tooth-like projections which engage flash from opposite sides at spaced locations along the line of juncture between the web of flash and the surface of the article. Inclined cam surfaces on one jaw assembly urge a flash web engaged between the teeth of the closing jaws outwardly away from the article to tear the flash clear of the article.

    摘要: In a machine for trimming flash from blown plastics bottles, the bottle is held during trimming in a two part mold with the flash line coincident with the mold parting line. An inclined chute feeds the bottles into the lower half-mold. One side of the chute has a ledge supporting the bottle necks, so that the flash prevents the bottle from pivoting in its travel down the chute. A retractable rule is arranged in extension of the ledge so as to receive and guide the neck as the bottle leaves the chute, and falls into the lower half-mold, and ensures correct positioning therein. An axially movable rod supports and retracts the rule into a housing as the lower half-mold ascends against the upper half-mold, for the trimming operation. An auxiliary rod holds the rule in the same vertical plane as the ledge, Two retaining rods from the lower edge of the lower half-mold hold back the articles in the chute whilst the lower half-mold is in an ascended position. The chute alone or the whole of the machine may be inclined to the vertical and such inclination is adjustable.
