摘要： An improved folding stair comprising a sequence of steps (101), each rotably mounted to a structure (102) via axes (103) located and oriented to facilitate rotation between deployed and stowed states, such that the steps exhibit tread overhang (109) in their deployed state. The step width (105) exceeds the step rise (107). In other embodiments the axes are to one side of the steps. In other embodiments the angle of rotation between deployed and stowed states exceeds the arccosine of step-above thickness (104) over step rise. In other embodiments the movement from deployed to stowed state moves the steps from the traversal path. In other embodiments the axes are either skew to the deployed tread, or to the traversal path, or to both. Other embodiments include a means of coordinating the steps' folding motion.

摘要： A folding staircase for use in a door opening having a threshold. The folding staircase has a pair of stringers that have an upper end and a lower end that is adapted for contacting a ground surface. The stringers are spanned by at least one tread. A hinge is connected to a floor near the door opening and a threshold plate pivotally connected thereto is movable between a use position and a stowed position. The staircase may be provided with a lifting mechanism that biases the staircase and threshold plate toward their stowed positions. The lifting device provides a variable force that provides more rotational force when the staircase would require a user to bear more of its weight and less force when less of the weight of the staircase would be borne by a user.

摘要： The water-filled stairs involves a modular staircase that is to be used on a temporary basis, and which is of hollowed construction so as to be filled with water when in use for the purpose of weighing down the staircase. The water-filled stairs is further defined with a plurality of steps adorning a top surface, and a flattened bottom surface. Distal ends of the water-filled stairs include a hook or connecting bar such that consecutive staircases may be attached to accommodate the needs of a particular application. Each staircase includes a male threaded port adjacent a top distal end as well as a bottom distal end. A flexible hose attaches in between the male threaded ports of adjacent staircases in order for a single water source to fill all staircases simultaneously.

摘要： The present disclosure provides a system of light weight folding stairs, especially lightweight wooden stairs, designed for installation in the ceiling of a building. For example, the light weight ladder-type stair system may be opened downwards and unfolded towards inside the room located under this ceiling. At least one ladder-type stair section is connected to a flap that fits within a frame in an opening in the ceiling, wherein the flap hinges open to access the folded stair sections. The ladder-type stair section is connected to the flap by a hook-type holder that allows installing the frame in a ceiling opening without the flap, which can be easily and quickly attached during final stage of assembly.

摘要： A folding ladder assembly having a door, a frame, and a strut connecting the door and frame. The strut comprises a first end and a second end opposite the first end. The first end of the strut is attached to the door via a strut stop bracket. The other end of the strut is attached to a stationary mounting plate, which is attached to the ladder opening frame. The strut is attached to the strut bracket via a strut standoff using an E-clip retaining ring. Optionally, the strut standoffs are riveted to the strut stop bracket and the stationary mounting plate. The strut stop bracket is optionally formed having a double bend to form two substantially parallel portions connected by a third non-parallel portion.
