Abstract: A flip-over ladder system includes a handle assembly configured to be mounted to a front face of a wall. The system further includes a ladder assembly, including first and second rail assemblies defining left and right sides of said ladder assembly, at least one rung spanning said first and second rail assembly, first and second bracket members, each configured to be both secured to said front face of said wall, and to vertically support said first and second rail assemblies, respectively. Each of said first and second rail assemblies comprises a bottom rail segment hingedly coupled to a middle rail segment, a middle rail segment hingedly coupled to an upper rail segment, and wherein said upper rail segment is hingedly connected to said first and second bracket member, respectively.

Abstract: A folding staircase for use in a door opening having a threshold. The folding staircase has a pair of stringers that have an upper end and a lower end that is adapted for contacting a ground surface. The stringers are spanned by at least one tread. A hinge is connected to a floor near the door opening and a threshold plate pivotally connected thereto is movable between a use position and a stowed position. The staircase may be provided with a lifting mechanism that biases the staircase and threshold plate toward their stowed positions. The lifting device provides a variable force that provides more rotational force when the staircase would require a user to bear more of its weight and less force when less of the weight of the staircase would be borne by a user.

Abstract: A swiveling staircase is provided for access to a device disposed above the ground at a distance that a person of an ordinary height is not able to reach. Abstract: The aquatic ladder was designed for ease of use, rather than ease of storage. It has wide, deep treads, arranged like a staircase, with side and upper railings which make it easy to enter or exit the water, even by elderly people, tired individuals, those carrying aquatic equipment, such as SCUBA gear or water skis, and, even, by pets. In the preferred embodiment, the aquatic ladder includes upper railings which each have an inverted “U” shape, and the distal end of those railings have hinged brackets for mounting the aquatic ladder to an object to be boarded. In an alternative embodiment, the aquatic ladder is mounted on a sliding rail, such that it can be raised, vertically, from the water, when it is not being used. The vertical portions of the ladder are short, relative to the overall height of the ladder whereby less material is used to manufacture the ladder, while making its shipment and storage easier. The ladder is preferably made from aluminum, although it can be made of other materials, such as steel (e.g., stainless or galvanized), fiberglass, plastic, or other composites.

Abstract: The purpose of this invention is to provide a floating ladder system for use on a platform. The floating ladder system includes a mounting section having a base for securely attaching to a platform and including two opposing tracks defining ladder leg receiving channels. The ladder system includes a generally vertical ladder having an upper and a lower portion, with a pair of opposed legs slidably disposed in receiving channels of the mounting section. The ladder system also includes at least one float connected to the lower portion of ladder. The float constructed and arranged to automatically translate from an at least partially submerged position for easy access to a free-floating position on top of the water.

Abstract: A bird cage ladder equipped with a locking connection mechanism that is biased toward a closed position and is easy to install and remove from a bird cage. Particular embodiments of the present invention have the flexibility to connect with various shaped bird cages. Other embodiments provide additional ladder stability by limiting the range of movement of the ladder from side-to-side. Utilization of a locking connection mechanism as disclosed makes it very difficult for the ladder to disengage from the bird cage due to rocking cause by a bird. The locking connection mechanisms are releasably connected to the bird cage and bird cage ladder, allowing the bird cage ladder to be easily installed and removed from the bird cage.
