    摘要: A common-aperture optical system includes a reflective telescope having a common boresight, an entrance pupil, an exit pupil, and a beam path extending from the entrance pupil to and beyond the exit pupil. A beam splitter intersects the beam path so that the beam path is incident upon the beam splitter. A light sensor is positioned to receive an input light beam traveling along the beam path after the beam path intersects the beam splitter and passes the exit pupil of the reflective telescope. A light source produces an output light beam incident upon the beam splitter and positioned to inject the output light beam into an inverse of the beam path and toward the entrance pupil of the reflective telescope. A diverger corrects at least one of the input light beam and the output light beam.

The combat tank is converted by integrating retrofitted equipment necessary for the artillery observation, especially the navigation system (12), into the vehicle turret (4) such that it does not collide with the main gun. The navigation system (12) is installed with an arbitrary orientation at an arbitrary location in the vehicle turret (4), and adjusted at this location, without requiring a complicated adjustment mechanism for the observation system, or attachment to the elevating mass. The necessary elevation values for the line of sight (21) are obtained through the evaluation of the angular values of a mirror in the mirror head, such as of a primary-target telescope (20), or through evaluation of gun-position angles.

    摘要: An optical feedback technique is utilized for accurately determining the angular orientation of a collimator relative to an electro-optical (EO) system, and for aligning the two. A mirror assembly mounted on the EO system comprises a plurality of mirror elements positioned to receive light from the exit aperture of the collimator and to reflect the light back into the collimator through the aperture, each of the mirror elements having a reflecting surface oriented at a predetermined, unique angle. A beam of light reflected from one of the plurality of mirror elements forms a light spot on a photosensitive surface at the focal plane of the collimator. The relative orientation of the collimator and the EO system is determined by comparing the position of the light spot on the photosensitive surface with a reference position. An error signal is generated based on the comparison of the position of the light spot with the reference position, and in response to the error signal, the orientation of the collimator is adjusted relative to the EO system to align the optical axes thereof.

    摘要: A system is provided for boresighting a laser to a passive sensor using a fluorescent conversion material. A passive sensor, such as a FLIR, is aligned with a boresight module using a test pattern on a fluorescent conversion material. Laser energy is then emitted onto the fluorescent conversion material at a first wavelength which is beyond the passive sensor's operating waveband. The fluorescent conversion material then radiates the laser energy at a second wavelength which is within the passive sensor's operating waveband. The location where the laser energy is radiated on the fluorescent conversion material is used as a reference in boresighting the laser to the passive sensor.
