Abstract:
Apparatus for restricting and/or prohibiting the use of a portable camera within a predetermined area, the apparatus comprising a first unit (10) mounted in or on a portable camera (not shown). The unit (10) includes a receiver (12) for receiving periodic radio signals (14) from one or more transmitters (16) located remote from the camera within the predetermined area. When the receiver (12) receives a signal (14), it activates a disable module (18) which disables one or more of the functions of the camera while it is within the predetermined areas. The apparatus may also include a GPS tracking system (20) for tracking the location of the camera and/or an alarm module (22) for emitting an alarm in response to receipt of a signal (14) from a transmitter (16).
Abstract:
This invention relates to a Motor Vehicle Recorder System device, which consists of a recorder device, microphones and a camera system installed in an automobile to record a conversation or other events. The invention reveals a recorder installed in a motor vehicle with a microphone positioned on the driver's side and a camera system preferably concealed in a decorative ornament. This recording system can be activated by either a foot switch, a voice activation switch, a remote wireless switch, or an airbag deployment. The system of the invention also includes activation in several different modes: (1) silent activation, (2) signal activation, (3) compliance activation whereby there is a message announcing that the incident is being recorded, and (4) automatic shut down of all other sound systems in the motor vehicle to allow this invention to function and record without background noise. In a preferred embodiment of the system, a transmitted is included in the system, and audio, video and other data are transmitted from the vehicle to a remote location. Also, the system can be interfaced with a GPS system so that a vehicle's instantaneous position information can be recorded along with the speed of the vehicle. The system has been designed to protect drivers involved in an accident, car failure, severe weather conditions or any other condition which causes the driver to abandon or leave the motor vehicle. The system has also been designed to protect law-abiding citizens and drivers in any attempted car-jacking situations and to discourage police officers from mistreating motorists and displaying unprofessional attitudes.
Abstract:
A card security device for cards which have coded information on or within the cards has a mechanically closeable and releasably lockable card vault for releasable locking enclosure of cards within the card vault, the card vault releasably lockable by a releasable lock. The lock is releasable by a recognition processor upon recognition of a user's biometric sample by the recognition processor. An incorrect recognition sample by a user, or forcible entry into the card vault either by forced releasing of the vault door or disruption of the vault casing results in a triggering of a destruction device for rendering useless and unrecoverable by disfigurement or destruction by the destruction device of the coded information on the information carrying medium.

A card security device for cards which have coded information on or within the cards has a mechanically closeable and releasably lockable card vault for releasable locking enclosure of cards within the card vault, the card vault releasably lockable by a releasable lock. The lock is releasable by a recognition processor upon recognition of a user's behavior pattern by the recognition processor. Repeated use of an incorrect recognition pattern by a user and recognition processor, or forcible entry into the card vault either by forced releasing of the vault door or disruption of the vault casing results in a triggering of a destruction device for rendering useless and unrecoverable by disfigurement or destruction by the destruction device of the coded information on the information carrying medium.
Abstract:
A protection device against intrusion of a zone including at least one bag firmly affixed to at least one support, the bag having a flexible envelope inflatable by at least one gas or fluid generator triggered by control means. Upon inflation of the flexible envelope, the envelope spreads apart above the support to subtend a substantially cylindrical volume having an axis substantially parallel to the support and of dimensions adequate to constitute a barrier to hamper advance toward the zone protected by the device.

This invention relates to a Motor Vehicle Recorder System device, which consists of a tape recorder and sensitive microphone system installed in an automobile to record a conversation. The invention reveals a mini-tape recorder installed in a motor vehicle with a mini-microphone positioned on the driver's side. This recording system can be activated by either a foot switch or alternatively by voice activation. This Motor Vehicle Recorder System invention also includes activation in several different modes: (1) silent activation, (2) signal activation, (3) compliance activation whereby there is a message announcing that the incident is being recorded, and (4) automatic shut down of all other sound systems in the motor vehicle to allow this invention to function and record without background noise. Abstract:
The present invention involves a system and method for detecting a graffiti-making act such as the spray of a spray paint can, the writing with a felt-marker pen on a surface, and the scratching with an abrasive instrument on a surface. The system includes one or more sensors adapted to sense the graffiti-making act and transmit a signal representative of the graffiti-making act, and a base unit including electronics adapted to process the signal and determined whether the signal represents a graffiti-making act, and a communication device coupled to the electronics and adapted to communicate to one or more entities that a graffiti-making act has been detected. The method includes sonically detecting the graffiti-making act, and initiating an alarm indicating that the graffiti-making act took place.
Abstract:
The present invention involves a system and method for detecting a firearm shot. The system includes one or more sensors adapted to sense the firearm shot and transmit a signal representative of the firearm shot, and a base unit including electronics adapted to process the signal and determined whether the signal represents a firearm shot, and a communication device coupled to the electronics and adapted to communicate to one or more entities that a firearm shot has been detected. The method includes sonically detecting the firearm shot, and initiating an alarm indicating that the firearm shot took place.
Abstract:
A flood light lamp removal alarm for security lights mounted on or near a home, wherein the lights are designed to turn on automatically if a motion detector is triggered and the ambient light level is low, detects if any of the flood light lamps are unscrewed or loosened, either prior to a burglary or during the attempt to disable the flood light assembly. A central contact of a lamp socket is modified so that it maintains contact with the lamp therein for a longer distance as the lamp is unscrewed out, so that the alarm is triggered before the light from the lamp is disabled. Alternatively, current detectors verify when a lamp is loosened from a socket by detecting changes in current draw across the socket.
Abstract:
Rapidly deployable restraining systems and methods for rendering personnel, nimals and other objects immobile includes an assembly of confinement devices housed in a dispersion package. Each confinement device has a propellent, a primer and an inflatable bag that is rapidly inflated by the propellent when fired by the primer. A detonator, located in the package, is discharged to open the package, disperse the confinement devices and cause the primers to be energized, thereby inflating the bags. The package is pre-emplaced in a target area or it is projected into the area via a fired projectile of which it is a part.
