    摘要： A pneumatic timer is disclosed which includes a base plate, a vertical frame member consisting of a frame perpendicular to the base plate and a horizontal frame. The horizontal frame portion includes a central opening, the vertical frame portion includes a pair of vertically extending grooves. A timing mechanism is received in the central opening in the horizontal frame portion including a displaceable element displaceable axially of the central opening in the base plate and a knob disposed on top of the horizontal frame portion. An electromagnet is fixed inside the vertical frame portion in a region surrounded with the horizontal and vertical frame portions. The electromagnet includes a plunger which has a connecting rod associated therewith and which is vertically movable in response to an input signal and is arranged so that in the normal condition it holds the displaceable element in its initial position but that upon energization of the electromagnet it allows vertically downward displacement of the displaceable element. Each of the pair of grooves in the vertical frame portion includes one of the two arms of a T-shaped lever received in the upper region thereof.

    摘要： An instantaneous signal applied to the inlet of the timing device is passed through a restrictor into a capacitance and the resultant rising pressure is compared with an adjustable-level reference pressure signal which defines the timing period. When the capacitance pressure exceeds the reference signal value, a comparison signal initiates the release of an obturator. The reference pressure propagates to the outlet of the device and produces the time-delay signal.

    摘要： A pneumatic timer is constructed by stacking a calibration subassembly on top of a diaphragm housing stacked above a diaphragm subassembly, and including a filter capsule subassembly interposed between the calibration subassembly and the diaphragm housing. The filter capsule subassembly includes a check valve disposed within a recess so constructed that all air entering the recess must pass through filter screens disposed on opposite sides of the check valve. The biasing spring for the check valve bears against one of the screens and biases the movable valve member to a normal position bearing against the other screen. The second screen is flexible so that at the end of the reset stroke the plunger attached to the timing chamber diaphragm mechanically opens the check valve.

    摘要： A free piston, an orifice, and an independent valve are employed to provide multiple controls of the displacement of a control valve after a time delay provided by the orifice and free piston. The characteristics of the orifice and the free piston as well as pressure and resistance, determine the minimum time delay. Bleed circuits, when open, may delay the ultimate displacement of the control valve for an indeterminate period. The free piston assures that a high pressure pulse will hammer the control valve to its new position without stalling between positions. Several applications of the principle are provided.

    摘要： A quick replacement automatic slack takeup electric cord for small appliances such as lamps, radios and the like, comprising a length of two-conductor plastic lamp cord which is preferably coiled and semipermanently set in a helix, one end of the lamp cord having attached to it a convention two-prong electric plug adapted to be inserted in a wall receptacle. The other end of the two-conductor cord carries and extends into one end of a special elongate receptacle or housing having a socket or recess at its other end, opposite the entrance of the two-conductor cord. The special receptacle has a pushbutton switch and a flat base, the latter enabling it to be supported on a table surface. Within the special receptacle are two metal connector pieces having sharp prongs which are located at the inner end of the socket. The socket is of substantially oblong cross-sectional configuration whereby it is adapted to receive the freshly cut end portion of the original, somewhat flat electric cord from the lamp, which cord has been cut through with a scissors close to the lamp base. The receptacle also has a manually operable lever which is adapted to force the said cut end of the appliance cord laterally against the prongs, causing the latter to pierce the insulation of the appliance cord and to make electrical connections thereto. The switch of the special receptacle has a time delay device which delays the shutoff of the lamp. When the user switches off the lamp, a delay of several moments is experienced before circuit is opened.
