    摘要: An automatic auxiliary condensate drain for an automatic dry-pipe type fire protection sprinkler system, wherein condensation which forms within the sprinkler system due to changes in temperature is drained from the condensate reservoir at the direction of a programmable controller. The programmable controller coordinates the opening and closing of inlet and outlet valves so that accumulated condensate is drained from the system, yet the pressurized gas located in the sprinkler system is not allowed to escape. Actuators operate the inlet and outlet valves in response to signals from the programmable controller.

The controller also controls the multiple electric motors so that their respective doors move at the same time while preventing preselected doors from operating at the same time based on the desired temperature and desired direction of air flow.

    摘要: System and method for supplying water to plants. A photodetector detects light adjacent the plants and a threshold circuit generates a first signal representative of a first state when the level of illumination of the detected light is less than a threshold level and generates a second signal representative of a second state when the level of illumination of the detected light is greater than the threshold level. A processor is responsive to the first and second signals for anticipating approximately when the detected light will next change from the first state to the second state and approximately when the detected light will next change from the second state to the first state. A counter circuit responsive to the processor generates an initiate signal and a terminate signal. The counter circuit generates the initiate signal a first period of time before or after the anticipated change from the first state to the second state and generates the terminate signal a second period of time before or after the anticipated change from the second state to the first state. A valve control circuit, responsive to the initiate signal for beginning a sequence of alternating on and off periods and responsive to the terminate signal for ending the sequence, controls a valve arrangement which supplies water to the plants.

    摘要: A programmable controller apparatus and method for irrigation systems including at least one removable control module interfacing with internal circuitry of the programmable controller for activating and operating a plurality of watering valves. A housing unit is provided for the control module and the internal control circuitry of the programmable controller to prevent water contamination and unauthorized tampering. The removable control module interfaces with the internal circuitry of the controller to provide variations in programmable watering sequences for individual watering stations. The control module, in addition, comprises multiple programming keys and switches that provide interaction between the electronic programming and manual programming features which function in combination to provide easier programming options for the irrigation controller. Moreover, the stand alone capacity of the removable control module allows the control module to be programmed at a remote location from the irrigation controller. A manual mode of operation is provided for selectively overriding or deactivating previously entered programming sequences for individual watering stations without disturbing the programming sequences of other watering stations. A master valve is also included which can be selectively activated on a programmable basis for individual watering stations. Formed on the exterior of the housing unit of the programmable controller is an external default indicator that provides visual indication of faulty watering stations. Further thereto, a transmitter/receiver provides the programmable controller with radio compatible for on-site programming of faulty watering stations of the irrigation system.

On the other hand, period table data, which consist of pulse interval data divided into divisions corresponding in number to the divisions of the controlled variable table data for determining a given control pattern, are stored in another memory. The fluid valve is controlled by successively generating pulses corresponding to the pulse number data in the individual divisions of the controlled variable table data at pulse intervals set in the individual divisions of the time length table data, driving a pulse motor by means of the generated pulses to control the flow rate and fluid pressure, counting the pulses, converting the count into an analog signal, thereby driving an actuator for the fluid valve.

    摘要: Apparatus for providing a gas flow only for a predetermined time period includes a normally pressurized closed valve in a gas line and a timed valve adapted to remove gas pressure from the normally pressurized closed valve thereby opening the same. The length of time during which such pressure is removed is controlled by the period of time necessary to exhaust pressure in a stage of the timed valve through a variable flow restrictor and upon expiration of such time period, pressure is reapplied to the line valve thereby closing the same. The flow of gas is thus permitted to continue for a predetermined time period following which the gas flow is terminated and relatively simple, conventional valve devices may be utilized to reliably control the gas flow.
