    摘要: A method and apparatus for transmitting and receiving a coded signal having an upper layer signal and a lower layer signal is disclosed. The method comprises the steps of combining the upper layer signal and the lower layer signal, encoding the combined upper layer signal and lower layer signal, delaying the upper layer signal, modulating the delayed upper layer signal, modulating the lower layer signal, transmitting the delayed upper layer signal and transmitting the lower layer signal.     摘要: A transmission circuit is provided which can output a stable transmission signal independently of the temperature characteristics of an amplitude modulating section. A signal generating section generates an amplitude signal and a phase signal. A regulator supplies a voltage which is controlled, depending on the amplitude signal, to the amplitude modulating section. An angle modulating section subjects the phase signal to angle modulation to output an angle-modulated signal. A temperature detecting section outputs temperature information of the amplitude modulating section. A gain control section controls a gain of a variable gain amplifier based on the temperature information of the amplitude modulating section. The variable gain amplifier amplifies the angle-modulated signal using the gain controlled by the gain control section. The amplitude modulating section subjects the angle-modulated signal to amplitude modulation using a voltage which is controlled, depending on the amplitude signal, to output an amplitude-modulated signal.

    摘要: A system and method for signal peak reduction in a spread spectrum communication system of the type including a filter for limiting signal bandwidth of symbols transmitted from the system. A signal peak reduction unit is provided before the filter that includes a filter predictor that predicts the effect of the filter on input symbols by using filter coefficient values corresponding to the filter impulse response function. Input symbols that are predicted to cause the output signal to exceed a predetermined peak limit value are adjusted. Several examples of suitable algorithms for calculating the necessary peak reduction to be applied to the input symbols are disclosed. The peak reduction unit provides adjusted symbols to the filter for processing and communication system output.

    摘要: Systems and methods are presented for measuring power levels of primary and interfering signals as well as noise, particularly for satellite transmitted signals. A typical method comprises the steps of receiving a signal comprising a primary signal, an interference signal and noise, demodulating the primary signal to remove a carrier frequency, decoding the primary signal to obtain symbols, estimating a power level of the primary signal based upon the demodulated and decoded primary signal. Additionally, an ideal primary signal can be generated from the carrier power and frequency and the symbols and subtracted from the received signal to produce the noise and interference signal. The noise and interference power is then estimated from the noise and interference signal.
