Abstract: A display device may include a display panel including a first display area having a plurality of first pixels and a second display having a plurality of second pixels and a light-transmission area between the second pixels. The display device may further include a sensor or an optical element under the display panel and overlapping with the second display area of the display panel. The display panel may include a substrate, a circuit layer on the substrate and having a buffer layer and a plurality of insulating layers, and a light emitting element layer on the circuit layer. The second display area may include a hole penetrating the substrate, the buffer layer, and the plurality of insulating layers.

Abstract: A novel thin film encapsulated OLED panel architecture and a method for making the panels with improved shelf life is disclosed. The OLED panel consists of a plurality of OLED pixels; each OLED pixel is individually hermetically sealed and isolated from its neighboring pixels. The organic stack of the OLED pixel is contained within its own hermetically sealed structure, achieved by making the structure on a barrier coated substrate and using a first barrier material as the grid and a second barrier for encapsulating the entire OLED pixel. The first barrier material provides the edge seal while the second barrier disposed over the pixel provides protection from top down moisture diffusion. By isolating and hermetically sealing individual pixels; any damage such as moisture and oxygen ingress due to defects or particles, delamination, cracking etc. can be effectively contained within the pixel thereby protecting other pixels in the panel.

Abstract: A method for manufacturing a display panel is provided, the method including forming a semiconductor pattern on a base layer, applying at least one insulation layer on the semiconductor pattern, and applying a control electrode on the insulation layer so as to overlap at least a portion of the semiconductor pattern. The applying of the control electrode includes depositing molybdenum to form a preliminary electrode layer, forming a photoresist pattern on the preliminary electrode layer, and applying an etching gas to dry-etch the preliminary electrode layer. In an embodiment, in the dry-etching, the etching gas may include a nitrogen trifluoride gas, an oxygen gas, and a chlorine gas. Accordingly, it is possible to implement a manufacturing process of an eco-friendly display panel while increasing the yield and reliability of the display panel manufacturing process.

Abstract: A display apparatus according to an example of the present disclosure includes a substrate having an active area and a non-active area having a pad unit, a thin film transistor disposed in the active area, a light emitting diode disposed in the active area and connected to the thin film transistor, an encapsulation layer covering the thin film transistor and the light emitting diode, a touch electrode array disposed in the active area on the encapsulation film, a first touch pad electrode disposed in a pad unit of the substrate and connected to the touch electrode array through a touch link line, and a planarization film patterned in the pad unit in an island shape to cover a part of the first touch pad electrode. Based on this configuration, the electrolytic corrosion of the chip on film (COF) due to film lifting can be suppressed or minimized effectively.
