摘要： A device for attaching a plurality of leaders to a single fishing line is disclosed. The device comprises a hollow, elongate, generally cylindrical body having axially opposed ends proximately and distally located with respect to the fishing line. An abutment is formed in the proximal end of the body. An axially displaceable clamping member is disposed within the body and a guide slot is formed in the proximal end of the body for guiding a fishing line between the abutment and the clamping member. The clamping member is spring biased toward the abutment into secure clamping engagement with a fishing line disposed therebetween. A stem disposed on the clamping member extends through the distal end of the body and includes means for securing a leader to the clamping member. When a fish strikes a lure disposed on the end of the leader, the drag of the fish pulls the clamping member away from the abutment, out of secure clamping engagement with the fish line to provide for relative movement between the body of the device and the fishing line received therein.

摘要： A snell for connecting a fishhook to a line or leader. The snell, a strand of nylon or like material, is formed with a hook connector at one end and a line connector or eye at the other end as a unitary structure. The hook connector provides a socket to receive and hold the shank end of a hook. The line connector is formed with a passageway commencing at its extended end and exiting from the side of the connector. This passageway receives the end of a line which is threaded through the passageway, knotted and secured thereinto. The mode of manufacture of this snell is to form the same by molding the strand and connectors as a unit. The strand may be subsequently drawn to increase its strength and to reduce its diameter.

摘要： A downrigger line release device for a trolling system to suspend a fishing lure at a desired depth in the water. A magnet body is fixedly or slidably attached to a downrigger cable supporting a weight beneath the water surface. A magnetic line release means is magnetically engaged with said magnet body and is secured to a fishing line a desired distance ahead of a lure to support the lure at the depth of the magnet body on the downrigger cable. The line release means is separable from the magnet body by the force of a fish striking the lure to permit the fisherman to play the hooked fish without interference of the downrigger cable and weight.

摘要： A quick tie device for use by fishermen including an eye-type snubbing post formed, preferably, by bending portions of a wire body to project at an angle essentially normal to the body, and a method of use of such device. By wrapping a section of leader line that is held alongside the eye body, first around the body area between the post and a spaced open eyelet, then making several wraps behind the post, then again wrapping a turn around the body between the post and open eyelet, and pulling the leader between the open eyelet loop and the shank end thereof; the leader is threaded through the open eyelet and a secure connection of the leader to the quick tie eye is made. The connection can be readily released by reversing the tying steps. The quick tie eye can be formed as the eyelet end of hooks, flies, flatfish, sinkers, swivels and other such items used in fishing, whereby one or a number of fishing devices can be readily attached to and detached from section of leader or line without the necessity for breaking or damaging the leader or line.
