摘要： A directional guide for a spreader bar includes a body extending along a longitudinal axis. The body includes a first fin and a second fin spaced apart from the first fin. The first and second fins are coupled to the body and are configured to control a vertical position of the body in water through which the body is moving. Grooves are formed in the body. The grooves include a first groove extending along the longitudinal axis of the body, a second groove crossing the first groove and a third groove crossing the first groove. A keel is rotatably coupled to the body. The keel is configured to rotate between the first groove, the second groove, and the third groove. The keel is configured to control a lateral position of the body in water through which the body is moving.

摘要： A 3-dimentional moving and visible filamentous material for insertion into a rebate or slot in the gill area of a baitfish lure which is designed to protrude out and away from the lure and intentionally simulates fibrous gill filaments and the exsanguination of an injured, bleeding prey fish. This filamentous insertion is created from a crimson natural, synthetic, or combination material that is metallic or translucent and naturally reflective in nature. The rebate or slot is a dissimilar wall height recess incorporated into the design of the lure which is located between the head and body of the lure where the circumference of the head portion is slightly larger than circumference of the body portion in the area of a “gill slit” causing a vortex of turbulent water flow impacting and agitating the filamentous insertion fibers. The method of attachment is in the form of a water-resistant, transparent glue.

摘要： A fishing device for indicating a lure strike from fishes is disclosed. The device may be a strike indicator that may include a hollow body filled with trapped air, where the strike indicator includes a tab having an opening formed therein and a grommet made from a hard, durable material seated in the opening. Alternatively, the device may be a fishing lure that may be attachable to a fishing hook and having a hollow body filled with trapped air and an attachment mechanism for attaching the lure to the fishing leader and/or fishing line. For example, the fishing lure may be a fishing fly having a hollow body filled with trapped air. In either embodiment, the device may be made from a lightweight, resilient material, for example ethylene vinyl acetate or other similar thermoplastic material. Further, in either embodiment, the hollow body may be substantially sealed with a substantially water tight seal without any inlet or outlet to the hollow body, such that substantially no liquid can displace the trapped air.

A method is provided for coloring and waterproofing the abdomen material, which allows it to transmit virtually all of the available light. The fly has a natural glow to it that is discernable to human eyes even after the sun has set. This fly represents a new approach to fly-fishing lures because it is substantially translucent and lifelike.
