    摘要: The disclosed electrostatic coating system (1) includes a spray gun (2) for electrostatic coating, a high-voltage generator (5), and an alternating-current source unit (4), and further includes a removable grounding member (7), in a state attached to the main body of the gun, provided to close an open-circuit portion (3c) of the grounded power source line (3a), and a control circuit (8) for controlling the alternating current source unit (4) by detecting the current flowing through the power source line (3) or the voltage of the power source line (3) by a current coil (13) to stop application of the alternating voltage (Vac) to the high-voltage generator (5) when the detected electric current or the detected voltage has dropped or either the current or the voltage is not detected during supply of the alternating voltage (Vac) to the high voltage generator (5) of the spray gun (2). This system enables prevention of charging of the removable grounding member (7) to improve the safety in the coating operation.

    摘要: An induction charging nozzle assembly includes two branches of one or two electrodes, a nozzle and a power supply. The nozzle is positioned to spray an atomized spray of a liquid between parallel portions of the electrode branches. The power supply applies an electrical potential to the electrode(s) relative to the (grounded) liquid so that the liquid acquires an electrical charge when sprayed from the nozzle. Preferably, the nozzle is a hydraulic flat fan nozzle. The atomized spray preferably has a volume mean diameter between 80 microns and 140 microns and a charge-to-mass ratio of at least 0.8 mC/kg.

    摘要: A method of forming a material structure from structural units contained within a liquid solution in a spray head is described. The liquid solution includes a solvent and a solute, the solute comprising a plurality of the structural units, the structural units including monomer units, oligomer units, or combinations thereof. The method comprises forming droplets of the liquid solution including the structural units, and spraying the droplets on a substrate, thereby substantially increasing the reactivity of the structural units within the droplets relative to the structural units within the liquid solution in the spray head. The increase in reactivity can result from the droplets containing an excess of a particular ion, the ion excess resulting from a voltage applied to conductive walls of the device which dispenses the droplets. The material structure is then formed on the substrate from the more highly reactive structural units within the droplets.

    摘要: A coating dispensing device includes a trigger assembly for actuating the coating dispensing device to dispense coating material and a nozzle through which the coating material is dispensed. The coating dispensing device further includes a source of voltage and a voltage multiplier for multiplying the voltage. The voltage multiplier is coupled to the source. An output terminal of the voltage multiplier is charged to a high-magnitude electrostatic potential and is adapted to charge coating material as the coating material is dispensed from the dispensing device. The coating dispensing device further includes a circuit for providing a visual indication of the voltage at the output terminal. The circuit for providing a visual indication of the voltage at the output terminal comprises a first impedance across which a portion of the voltage at the output terminal appears and an amplifier. The output terminal of the amplifier is coupled to a light source for providing the visual indication of the voltage at the output terminal of the voltage multiplier.
