Abstract: A spraying apparatus for applying a friction modifying fluid to a railroad rail, comprising: a nozzle body disposed in a housing; a fluid inlet conduit in fluid communication with an opening in housing; a fluid inlet disposed in the housing in fluid communication with a first fluid conduit defined by or disposed in the nozzle body; wherein the first fluid conduit runs from fluid inlet to a hollow nozzle tip body disposed on and protruding through a bottom of housing and wherein fluid inlet is also disposed below, and in fluid communication with, the fluid inlet conduit; a control fluid supply line and an atomizing fluid supply line each partially disposed in the housing and each having respective portions external of the housing for connecting with the same fluid supply or respective fluid supplies; wherein the control fluid supply line injects a pressurized control fluid against a piston assembly disposed in a piston cavity; wherein the piston assembly carries stopper needle which is biased towards hollow nozzle tip body by a spring so that the needle closes a nozzle tip opening of hollow nozzle tip body; wherein the atomizing fluid supply line provides a pressurized atomizing fluid into hollow nozzle tip body to atomize the first fluid supplied by the first fluid conduit into the hollow nozzle tip body via a fluid cap disposed on the hollow nozzle tip body; wherein in operation the control fluid supply line and the atomizing fluid supply line are operated simultaneously while the first fluid is supplied by the first fluid conduit into the hollow nozzle tip body via a fluid cap such that the pressurized control fluid injected by control fluid supply line against a piston assembly displaces needle out of the nozzle tip opening and allows the first fluid to exit out of the nozzle tip opening where the first fluid is atomized by the pressurized atomizing fluid supplied by the atomizing fluid supply line.

Abstract: A drive circuit for a solenoid valve having a coil and a poppet configured to translate within the coil includes a drive switch operable to de-energize the coil to translate the poppet toward a closed position, a sensor configured to detect the poppet translating within the solenoid valve, and a drive circuit configured to energize and de-energize the coil of the solenoid valve to translate the poppet of the solenoid valve between an open position and a closed position. The drive circuit includes a controller configured to receive a closure signal from the sensor, determine a closing time of the solenoid valve based on the closure signal, determine a time delay between de-energizing the coil and the determined closing time, and determine a fluid flow value of fluid flowing through the solenoid valve based on the determined time delay.

Abstract: A fluid dispensing system includes one or more pumps, the one or more pumps include an inlet connected to a source of fluid and an outlet. Fluid dispensers are fluidically connected to the one or more pumps. The fluid dispensers direct fluid towards a surface. A control circuit is operatively connected to each of the one or more pumps. The control circuit activates the one or more pumps to wash the surface. A manifold includes one or more fluid inlets connected to each of the one or more pumps and a plurality of fluid outlets each connected to the fluid dispensers. At least one check valve is arranged at one of a first position at the outlet of the corresponding one or more pumps and at a second position between the one or more pumps and the manifold and at a third position integrated into the manifold.

Abstract: The present disclosure belongs to the technical field of mechanical spraying, and a color change block with detection feedback as well as spraying equipment are provided. The color change block with detection feedback comprises a cleaning agent valve module, a color change micro valve module, a mixing pipe module and a turbidity detection module which are connected in sequence. A complete collinear common channel is formed among these modules, and the wall surface of the common channel is a complete plane. The turbidity detection module is further connected to the control module and used for monitoring the turbidity of a medium flowing through the common channel in real time so as to determine whether the medium in the common channel meets a cleaning requirement or not and feed a determination result back to the control module, and then the control module switches other media to form a closed-loop control.

The herbicide and mixing module has a plurality of containers for receiving different herbicides. The nozzle assembly has a first set of nozzles for spraying herbicides, and the control module, the herbicide and mixing module, and the nozzle assembly can each be individually fixed to a carrier element in a reversible manner.
