    摘要： An enclosed workplace support for temporary, immovable installation below and on each side of a bridge or other existing structure while performing work on bridge substructure. Double rows of upper and lower outriggers are installed to extend outwardly from each lateral side of the bridge and cables are attached to the outer ends of each row of outriggers. Additional cables are attached at opposite ends to bearings or other bridge substructure and extend parallel to the bridge centerline for an entire span. The cables support a high-strength flooring, preferably or rubber-coated chain link fencing. A nylon tarp is laid over the fencing below the bridge and extends around each side, attached to the outrigger cables, and is sealed to the bridge curbs. An exhaust blower maintains the interior of the enclosed workplace at subatmospheric pressure.

    摘要： A pliable, resilient retaining means integrated with an area to be masked in an architectural structure, extending over and substantially covering a channel about the perimeter of the area. The retaining means is attached to the channel wall proximate the area to be masked and is inwardly displaceable, allowing for the insertion and retention of non-adhesive paper or plastic masking material. The resilience of the retaining means urges it from its displaced position outward towards the channel wall distal the area to be masked where it frictionally engages the masking sheet between the end of the retaining means and the channel wall. Placement of the masking sheet is accomplished by stuffing the edges of the sheet into the channel by running a tool along the perimeter of the channel structure, displacing the retaining means inwardly both substantially parallel and at an angle to the channel walls. The resilience of the retaining means causes it to close behind the tool, engaging the masking material and storing any excess material within the channel. After use, the material is removed and the retaining means remains in place for future applications.

    摘要： A door protector for use by furniture movers is disclosed which fully protects all main entrance doors from damage due to contact with moving furniture. The use of the protector allows speeding up of the moving process. The protector is an adjustable length pad which fully covers the exposed surface of the door and affords double thickness protection at the lower end portion of the door. The protector is hung removably on the door by an upper end pocket which engages over the top edge of the door to support and position the protector. Damage to furniture is also avoided by using the door protector.

    摘要： A roll of pretaped, laterally folded masking material is mounted on a dispenser which is attached to the legpiece of one of a pair of stilts worn by masking workers. When the stilts are secured to the feet and legs of a worker, the dispenser supports the roll generally vertically alongside the worker's body with the taped end of the roll facing upwardly and positioned approximately at the level of his shoulder. To mask the walls in a room, the worker unrolls the folded material and fastens the tape continuously along the tops of the walls around the perimeter of the room while moving along the walls. The unrolled material is then cut from the roll and the portion below the tape attached to the walls is unfolded downwardly to completely mask the walls. To subsequently mask the floor, the worker attaches the taped edge of another length of the material along one wall to the free edge of the material already taped to that wall. The second length of material is then cut from the roll and its free edge is pulled away from the wall, unfolding the second length and a lower portion of the first length along the floor.
